It's that kind of thinking that got us a Lethal Weapon TV show so let's be careful. That said, I'd watch the hell out of The Last Boy Scout: The Series.

Even speaking as someone who loves Jackass and Knoxville as a dude, it continues to blow my mind that Bad Grandpa was both good and successful. (At least from what I heard, admittedly having not seen it yet.)

I haven't seen anything of his newer than New Police Story (which was oddly dour in a way I was sort of unprepared for) and Chinese Zodiac 2012 (which was oddly self-congratulatory, even if it had some fun parts - like a propaganda version of The Armor of God maybe) but I haven't heard good things about some of his

I have an odd misplaced fondness for Renny Harlin mostly thanks to his Nightmare on Elm Street and Die Hard entries, and I love the idea of Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville hanging out, and it's weird as hell that Eva Torres is in this, so fuck it - I'll give it a shot.

Exactly - poor guy* might have wound up with some dementia down the road, but he didn't do himself any goddamn favors in college, like many young men of his generation.

I first heard it here, funny enough, and while I've never been worried enough to look into it otherwise I'd be slightly amused if it just turned into some weird inside-AV Club thing.

No way, this isn't anywhere near the erudite, well-reasoned advice that I and my colleagues - er, that is to say, the handsome, talented, and totally famous Dr. Drew and his colleagues have displayed for years across a variety of well-received media ventures!

He's started doing that "smiling at inappropriate times for no reason" thing that my grandma did as she was dying of Alzheimer's. Obviously I don't know a goddamn thing about anything even remotely medical, but I gotta wonder if maybe he's having some brain troubles.

I can, so I upvoted all three of you to soften the blow!

Rumble in the Bronx rules but there's parts that I forgot about that are legit kind of a bummer - I always feel TERRIBLE watching Jackie Chan get broken glass shot at him from down an alleyway, but it's mostly because of how hard he sells it.

[Runs over a man on a golf course in a hovercraft with mountains in the background, all of which are in the Bronx]

That's one of my favorite things about John Woo when it does it well. Hard Boiled has some legit funny moments (a baby pees on Chow Yun Fat to put out a fire, for god's sake) balanced with fantastic choreography and that sort of deep cynicism a lot of his movies have.

Alright, after all that I'm willing to concede I'm not the Strongest Bond Opinion Haver around here, and while I don't agree with you - in fact I'd put AVTAK well ahead of Octopussy - I respect the amount of thought you put into this.

I understand Doug Liman does that with all of his stuff - he directs the slower, 'talkier' scenes, and then he has someone else do his action scenes. At least that's how I was told Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow worked.

I dunno, I kinda liked that for almost emphasizing the bleakness of it all. Nothing can stop John Wick, and yet at the end of it all he's been targeting a man who couldn't possibly stand up to him without the hordes of dudes he's been surrounding himself with, and John doesn't seem to be particularly enjoying his

I've never heard of her but I just googled her IMDB list and I'm pretty into a lot of these movies, thank you!

8 Diagram Pole Fighter is fucking beautiful, and I'd put it there with Return to the 36 Chambers for me.

YES YES YES. The last scene is pretty fucking great, despite the literal clowning, but everything that tries to get there is kind of abysmal. It's my second or third least favorite Moore Bond movie depending on how forgiving I'm feeling towards Moonraker that day.

You know, I remember not liking Part II as much, but it's been a few years and I was marathoning a ton of Chan stuff at the time, I oughta try it again.
