I fucking hate Rob Zombie but this is cracking me the fuck up and I wanted to thank you for it

I would love to, and I appreciate your insight into the matter!

Okay, admittedly the "sprawling plot" sounds like kind of a put off - the first one rules in that Die Hard/Dredd sense where everything you need to know is right there in the movie without a lot of unneeded setup or anything. That and the extra grimdarkness seems a little…much. But I might try it anyway, WHO KNOWS

Paul Haggis, I have to admit, was maybe my biggest "Scientology surprise" behind Beck and Jason Lee. Like, I saw his name in one of these articles and I had to read it a few times. "But…but…he helped write Casino Royale!"

Yeah, he's…not wrong.

I was a year old when this happened, but between this and Mac Tonight I really regret not being around to see McDonald's sillier ad campaigns. I goddamn love Mac Tonight, you guys.

I'm actually only loosely aware of how deep the Ribisi family was connected with the Church, so I'm super fascinated to hear Lucia's perspective. And that's good to hear about Beck - kinda makes me glad to know his super-hardcore ties with the Church may have been gone at least by the time I was getting into him.

I am sadly ignorant of the Dardennes' work (although I plan on rectifying that now) but this was a super interesting article/report, thank you!

I had a similar experience with friends screaming "MY ELLLLLEPHAAAAANT" with increasingly tortured pronunciation every time basically anything happened in The Protector.

UGH GOD THAT'S GREAT. I love so much when martial arts actors are forced into fight scenes that upend audience expectations.

I'm curious to ask - why didn't you like it? I own them both on Bluray but have only watched the first one so far.

That's a good scoring criteria for Tony Jaa movies - "Time to Ong-Bak".

Okay, you're right, perhaps I was being optimistic. I'd seen some brief mention in articles (and comments here) that Beck wasn't quite as hardcore as some others, but maybe I was just extrapolating incorrectly.

It sure as hell makes their occasional shift in tone easier to handle - compare "New Police Story" with the preceding few for example. It does lead to confusion when they come here, though, like with "Operation Condor" or the numerous "Drunken Master" films. (And I'm sorry all the examples I have are Jackie Chan, but

I met her a few weeks ago! Seemed nice, we made small talk about being from the same part of Michigan.

If nothing else he's ruined "Chop Suey!" for me and everyone else I know, but I use "ruin" loosely.

Great Boos, Internet?

True, the subject matter is a little Maiden/Motorhead and the song itself is oddly sludgy at first, but it's pretty good as a song.

The Haunting is the second Misfits song I ever heard in my life, and Saturday Night will always have a place on whatever music-playing-device I own, forever.

Hey, man, my horizons were broadened all the same.
