Not all speeding is created equal.

On an open highway with little to no traffic, in good weather, without any other adverse road construction or condition issues? If it is solely the driver in the car and their speed in excess of the posted limit won’t cause harm to another soul? Speed away my friend.

In a residential

Price elasticity my friend. Gasoline represents a product that is relatively inelastic. We need gas, most of us don’t have an alternative option to fuel our ICE cars other than pump gas. You can’t add water or a sports drink to your tank if you want to drive.

The oil companies know that they can increase the price

They have us over an oil barrell.

For the record, I love the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT. If Ford is having a hard time moving them, I’m open to a gift of that sort.

I don’t blame Ford or other carmakers for pushing the EV agenda. Change is good. However, the world isn’t ready for mainstream adoption yet, regardless of the brand. Tesla has an advantage

The Toyota situation is no mystery. Their dealership experiences rank among the worst I have encountered across any brand. I can give you a long list of stories and situations that led me to this opinion, but they’re probably common enough where you’ve already heard them from others.

I abandoned Toyota, and instead

I feel that you’re setting this up a rabbit hole trap. I’d be happy to provide you an essay to substantiate my opinion, but if you think the brand and their products are great, you’re entitled to that opinion, and I respect your right to an opinion, even if it differs from mine.

My kids wanted to try Mr. Beast Burger. So, we ordered Mr. Beast burger. Never again.

At every turn Hyundai and its family of brands confuse me. It just doesn’t make sense.

They remind me of the women in that eSurance commercial from many years ago. “That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.”

I feel for parents and the costs of raising a child. However, a taxi, private or commercial is not an appropriate place for a child to be. I do expect that when I call a car, it is the driver and me, or any other passengers who would otherwise be with me.

It is both awkward and disrespectful to share a car with the driver’s friends or family. When I’m in an Uber I’m often working. I don’t appreciate being a passenger with someone’s family or friends.

This is a necessary disclaimer from me for the foreseeable future I feel I need to preface any EV comment with, “I’m not against EVs, but...”

Our current norms, expectations, infrastructures, and processes are not optimized for EVs.

While fires can happen to an ICE and EV. Those fires are different. Fighting them

Not so much a horror story, but these are the things I’ve experienced a few times that drive me up a wall.

This is so dumb. Less practical versions of already impractical cars.

I’d be supportive of drivable, licensable replicas, but these scaled down versions just seem like a novelty for those who ran out of ways to spend money.

I prefer to travel United and only wish I still lived in a hub city. I’m now on a spoke and as a result, they’re not the most economical or direct to fly to most destinations other than hubs.

However, I’ve always found their professionalism, courtesy, and willingness to help at the top of the heap. I am not

However, similar levels of electronic monitoring are not exclusive to EVs. It seems most new cars have some level of connectivity built-in already, for which, opt-outs of data sharing may be limited, or limit the use of car features.

I’m a use case of one, but they’ve been the best of the domestics. I’ve not flown them international, so I make no claims for or against in that area.

Good points.

However, consider that when the Ridgeline came out for MY2006, it looked like a more sensibly sized version of the Chevrolet Avalanche.

In a related way, I’m sad that a truck like the Honda Ridgeline wasn’t a run away success. Having driven one, I can tell you that they’re plenty capable for most trucky things. 5k lbs. towing isn’t a problem. They’ll haul a full bed of whatever landscaping material you want, past their capacity, for a short distance

I hadn’t really thought about the political angle of this. Sadly, your stereotypes are fairly accurate. That useless, partisan back and forth has the potential to make any party a borefest.

I wonder if anyone is able to quantify the growth in the itelligence on a scale similar to Moore’s Law? I would suspect that it

Excellent points.

Going one step further, how far are we from a world where A.I. can help us avoid all sorts of common mistakes, and perils?

Are our brains built to allow us to grown and learn without making mistakes? I don’t think our biology is ready for AI.
