I’m not a “Never EV” person. I’m absolutely bullish on the future of EVs, but I’m waiting.
For around town, local use, an EV seems like a great idea. However, I can’t have a single duty vehicle. That goes against my principles. Just in the way I abhor single-use kitchen appliances, an EV that can only be used for

FWIW I would take a Lexus version of a Toyota any day of the week. If I were still in my 20s, a Toyota would be ok. But the extra interior detail of a Lexus makes for a much better driving experience. By comparison, Toyota versions of the same/similar vehicle feel like a cheap compromise.

I’m even more okay with the

Back then the cars Nissan made were good, or so I thought. I once knew a guy with a hardbody 4x4 pickup that nearly went bankrupt as a result of owning that truck.

They’ve done well with the press that’s for sure. Real life experiences may tell a different story.

They did seem like they were on more or less equal footing for quality and design. Now, I feel like they cater to the bad credit crowd.

When I was a kid/teen I viewed Honda, Toyota, and Nissan on relatively equal ground. I thought they each had their virtues, quirks, and identities that made them seem like different flavors of ice cream. I felt like they had brands that had enough unique flair, and the products seemed more or less comparable in

As it goes with most keyboard warriors, I bet you’d not utter such junk verbally if we were face to face. But, hey, you do you.

I’m not shilling for TX. There’s a lot there that’s a mess. But, don’t let the cloud of a few insecure conservative political leaders obscure a state on the rise, and in the midst of a

Ok, if you say so.

This is a good reply. Thank you.

Could “cis” be a slur? Sure. However, it seems more that people were harassing James Esses, rather than trying to shame his gender or gender identity.

I’d never heard of James Esses until now, so I did take a look at his Twitter. I don’t think he’s a wonderful human.

As much as I’d do

Hate, and being hateful toward people has zero value to society. It takes just as much energy to be positive, supportive, and helpful. Why would someone actively choose to hate another person, or group of people?

Hate toward your fellow humans in any shape of form is useless, and in some situations dangerous, and

Two in the top 100? Your numbers are off. Using the same source there are more public schools in the top 100 nationally just in Dallas.

Listen, where Texas schools rank matters none to me, but it seems important to you.

All I’m saying is that beneath the layers of what smells and looks like feeble attempts of a few

It is unfair that people rail on BMW for creating ugly cars. I would say that they’ve had periods of time when their cars looked good. However, any of their cars made in 1928 or newer all qualify as ugly. Prove me wrong.

Washington is a beautiful state with so much to offer. However the public schools are a total joke. If bringing up smart kids through a public school system isn’t a priority, it is a wonderful place to live.

That’s true. However, let me point out that your ellipsis has one too many periods. That is a common error, and some people never learned that three is the only acceptable quantity of periods for an ellipsis.

Overall, probably true. But given the geographic and demographic diversity of the state, that’s understandable. Around Houston, Dallas and Austin there are some of the best public schools in the nation. Very much worth the extra property taxes if you’ve got more than one smart kid in your home.

UT is near the top of

Agree to disagree. But I have no crystal ball in which to see the future. These feeble attempts at turning back the hands of time feel like a buzzer beating 3 pointer, or a Hail Mary.

So true. However, so much of these laws that are being passed in states like TN, FL and TX seem like hail Mary attempts as a turnover in logic and leadership is imminent.

You’re right on many points. Of course there is no one perfect state in which to live and work. Upsides, downsides, trade offs and compromises are aplenty. I don’t laugh at anyone who lives in an expensive area. Sometimes it works. I know people in SoCal who live in the same home they bought in the 1970s or 1990s.

Ugh, the politics. Yeah, they got it bad. However, they’re pushing hard to be as regressive as they can be because the red dominance is starting to wane. The blue cities keep growing in size and moving out to red surrounding counties. I’d expect the next big election cycle to tip toward blue.

As is much of the country at the moment.
