If the eyes are the window into one’s soul, the headlights are similar in their impact on the character of a car’s design.

The above was taken from Wikipedia, and I found it to be chuckle-worthy for the fact that the designers were butthurt, but used the line “we’ve done all your bread and butter cars through the years” in their defense.

Why was the rideshare being served at a high speed?

Sex sells, but Sex also doesn’t have to be misogynistic to be effective.

Not the first time we’ve seen unattractive wheels from Ford.

I have no direct experience with the car other than as an admirer of the styling. I did own a few other GM cars of that era and they were not well-made automobiles. I can only imagine the complications of an expensive, more technologically advanced car made more or less by the same people who made the cars I drove.

I’ll give GM a pass on the Allanté. You need to keep in mind what other vehicles GM was making during this era. To me this still looks crisp, handsome, and even a tad athletic for Cadillac of that time.
Compare it to any of its contemporaries of the brand in 1987 and the Allanté stands out.

Here’s the 1987 lineup as a

I feel like each of these cars selected needs my commentary. It is a perfect reflection of its era in terms of style and performance.

The Ferrari people I know do not “loathe” this car. I read this a lot on message boards, but in reality I see a healthy respect for them in the real world, but values don’t reflect a

I feel like this car embodies the right mix of Pininfarina flair and respect to the brand’s design language. The proportions aren’t off of what I’d consider normal for the time or for now, but it does differ enough from the standard issue Rolls-Royce to be distinguishable.

I thought it was a terrible car that also looked terrible. I’m surprised that this is a Pininfarina design. I always felt like this and many Hyundais of the same era weren’t designed by a professional at all. Instead, someone asked their 12 year old to take a picture of a Toyota and just make it look weird.

A few thoughts on this:

Turn signal enforcement needs to increase. BMW drivers alone could fund many great community programs with the fines they would generate.

Uber has an opportunity to better serve would be drunk drivers. I have ideas if they’re listening.

Thank you to this officer for honoring their oath to the

I’m happy to see two suggestions for a Mustang. Neither of those would be my first choice. there are gems in each generation of the Mustang.

However, Occam’s Razor...

Obvious choices are often so because they’re the right or best choice. Jansen stated it himself.

He shouldn’t go chasing waterfalls. He should just stick

For what it’s worth, I’ve liked and appreciated the few train trips I’ve taken. On the east and west coasts they’re great for trips <500 miles.

However, long-distance rail in the US seems like a horrible option. I’d support and use a high-speed national railway system.

That is the color of so many Camrys from the 90s through the aughts.

Glad you mentioned it. Thanks.

Its a bit more nuanced than that. They don’t throw a dart at a color chart on the wall and say, “here’s your color of the year.”

For sure. Interior paint colors have trends too. Greige is a safe bet and gives you latitude to use color in other ways.

I’m behind the times.

That’s cool. SB GM motors are so swappable.

I bet it turned heads, and also got a lot of disapproval. Either way, it was a cool conversation piece.

ND, with reason. I do love this car, and glad to see these 70s automotive consumables avoid the crusher.

Prove me wrong on any of my arguments to the con of this NP or ND.
