My Chevy Bolt uses about 29Kwh to drive 100 miles.
I pay .25 per Kw to charge at home. That’s $7.25 for 100 miles.

My gas car gets about 22 mpg combined, for 100 miles that’s 4.5 gallons @ $4/gal = $18 in regular gas for 100 miles.

You are stuck thinking in the past when a 4 cylinder motor made no power and was saved for economy cars. Modern 4 cylinders with turbos exceed the power of yesteryears V8s. My old 4.6 Ford made like 210hp and 280 ftlb of torque.

Great, now make one in a midsized pickup with a few creature comforts but not lavish and I’ll buy one.  I drive maybe 4500 miles a year at most and like to have a truck for when I need to run to Home Depot for house stuff.  A small electric truck would be perfect for me.

It might come as a shock to you, but there are plenty of people who don’t have $2500 bucks laying around for stuff like this.

This is partially why, and the overall cost delta is not far off, so if you have tio have one swiss army knife type car, a truck with 4 doors and fuel economy with in 2-4 mpg.

CJ Jeeps and most HMMWVs also had zero protection. The problem is once you start asking the vehicle to be armored, you end up with the 14,000lb Oshkosh L-ATV which doesn’t fit in a Chinook and can’t be transported at all by the Blackhawk, and it only carries 4.
