They used to use Fred Armisen for any and all Asian roles - he is one quarter Korean - if I’m honest, I don’t think that’s enough to get away with offensive accents but they always made damn sure to place that info front and centre as cover against (reasonable) backlash.

I don’t mind that a famous person had a cameo, it bothered me that his face was in the foreground for so long. It was such a weird “HEY LOOK A FAMOUS PERSON” shot that it kind of hurt the scene.
