My wife and I were on that exact flight. We lucked out and found a hotel but it was very expensive, nearly $700 as it was an ocean view room. United didn’t have any hotels/rooms left in their system and told us we were on our own. Since I travel frequently with status on United, I knew the drill so immediately started

The idea that putting others at risk because you think it looks cool is ok. That covers more than just street racing. It includes shit like the Carolina Squat, stretched tires, severe camber, and any other visual mod that negatively impacts the safety of the car.

Minivans are the greatest idea Detroit ever had. I’ve driven five Mopar minivans past 250,000 miles. My favorite vehicle of all time was a 1993 SWB Caravan with 2.5 liter and 5-speed manual. It drove like a car, hauled like a truck, averaged 29.5 mpg overall, and was easier to parallel park than a sedan. My present

It’s more of a must-have back in the pre-smart phone days when it wasn’t so easy for you to find a local tow truck operator  when you needed a tow in unfamiliar territory.

I mocked this up really quick to see what it would look like it Toyota finished the job. 1 more inch of lift (total of 2), fixed front fascia, better wheels and tires.

I’ve been saying for years that the first company to crossover the minivan will cleanup. I guess we’ll see.

Minivans. All of them. Soccer practice and Costco runs all week, overlanding all weekend.

wait so we say body positivity, but also body shame elon musk? seems the entire article is saying “ew, he has a weird torso”. a bit of a double standard no, jezebel?

I just think of the time we were replacing our ‘02 Camry with a ‘14 Highlander. While my wife was test driving the Highlander another salesperson saw me checking out the FT86 in the showroom. We chatted about it a bit but I expressed in no uncertain terms I was NOT shopping.

So I should wear clothes when I go car shopping then ?

I haven’t driven in 3 years, I’m all ebike now. But I still read jalopnik

Personally I would have preferred “people before cars” but no one made me the marketing director of remaking America.

I have long been a proponent of higher gas taxes. Europe’s high fuel prices post WW2 have meant that cities stay walkable, desirable and urban sprawl is limited.

My home, Detroit, is the opposite.

Perhaps long term $5 a gallon will have some effect.

not permagray anymore!

I was thinking I’d be angry with you, but realized I did the same thing in 1979 when I moved to Manhattan. For 35 years I loved not having a car, and renting on the odd occasion I wanted one.

About 10 years ago, we decided to go to chicago for an overnight. Instead of driving into the city, we drove to one of the suburbs and caught the Metro into downtown. It took longer than driving and we had to wait for the train. But otherwise? It was magnificent.

I’ve been riding and racing for 20 years and have seen experienced cyclists who ride over 10,000 miles a year fall over in that same manner. I think it is great that a man in his 70's is out there getting some exercise instead of sucking down Diet Cokes and lying about his weight while trying to end democracy.

Any Arteon sales figures for 2022 to date simply reflect how almost all the 2021 vehicles were already sold yet the 2022 vehicles have not yet arrived.

I agree on the transit connect. It has the space, the reliability (relative) and most importantly, you can get it with a 220 amp factory alternator upgrade. With that and a decent inverter you could charge and drive and make your life a little easier. either dual batteries and dc chargers or a high power inverter and

Yeah, any of the modern trade vans is really what this guys needs.
