Is, is this guy for real? It honestly does sound like satire, it’s so ridiculous.

I always forget and nobody has ever cared when I’ve done it either.

This is hearsay for me but I’m hearing other people say that you can actually access those other jobs later. It’ll just be considerably later. So it’s more of a choose one for now and one for later rather than a choose the only one you’ll ever get and be locked out of the other forever.

Aww. Ringabel grew on me, lol.

Well not knowing Bishop or when I’ll get which asterisks... I would lean towards B&W Magic.

Thief vs. Red Mage.

Other people are saying you can, just whichever you didn’t pick initially is unavailable until later in the game.

This is the exact character I was thinking of.

Oh god. That sounds so, so, so ill-advised

Fair enough, but from that description I’d be shocked (and impressed, honestly) if he was a humongous anime nerd. It’s fine for one spouse not to like everything the other does but for one to hate the other’s favorite thing just seems like a recipe for fighting.

They died a few times, yeah. Then somebody said something about not noticing a bunch of cans of gasoline or something they could’ve set on fire and I was like “wait you mean this game also requires field awareness?!”

As well you should be... as well you should be.

I’d argue that’s the only correct thing to do with an SO who “hates” anything you love. Unless you can come to a truce about it. But if you’re the type who wants to share that thing you love with your SO, yeah, better to find a new one...

I feel like “it’s painful” doesn’t begin to do it justice.

I always did that with my healers too. That’s hilarious though. And it answers what I was wondering, if when the other player has control you just have to wait for them to skip with triangle or input an action before you can do anything.

It certainly sounded like it was reflexes being the difference between success and failure, since they were talking about getting the crap beaten out of them. Wanting to pull off a Blitz quickly and having to dodge things are pretty different concepts.

Maybe I thought it was too limited at the time and forgot about it. We’ve played Tales games together since then though. I have to wonder how it worked with the UI; if player 2's character’s ATB gauge filled up, and while they were picking a command another of player 1's characters’ gauges filled, did player 1 have to

(Well you were responding to my comment that Final Fantasy wasn’t about reflexes. Or at least that’s what it looked like you were responding to; Kinja makes it very difficult to tell.)

Calling that reflex-based is a HUGE stretch. Besides, you could set it to Wait. And you weren’t dodging anything or trying to hit. While the gauge filled up you thought about what you wanted to do. If you still weren’t sure you popped into the item or magic menu and kept thinking. That is WORLDS apart from a
