I used to lifeguard in community pools in the “ghetto” and I NEVER had a problem. NOT ONCE. Kids got out of hand some times but it was my job to handle it. Nothing puts the fear of “consequences” like threatening to ban a kid from the pool in the hot Texas summers.

What I’m wondering is if police officers are trained in verbal de-escalation techniques. Are there any guidelines for lower level interventions that should be used before they move to physical restraint? What investigation takes place when mace is used, or an injury happens?

So people feel okay giving money to cops who are on paid leave after murdering an unarmed citizen on camera but giving to a woman who gave birth to a child she didn’t know she was carrying on a fucking airplane is asking too much? That’s greedy?!
