Thanks. I think I’m 1.5 years out from my first smogging and don’t exactly know where my stock IC is... The car’s been in for service a few times and the techs didn’t notice the IC - I’m hoping the visual is just a quick glance. I doubt I’ll get ref’d the car is otherwise stock, I just got tired of constant limp mode.…
Ha yeah, test driven twice - it’s not *that* great of a car. I’d rather less horsepower and weight, it feels pretty porky on the road for it’s size.
What about an intercooler? It looks stock, how hard do they check? I don’t relish peeling the front end off my car to go back to a stock IC just for a smog check, but with the stock IC the car’s in limp mode basically all summer long :|
This reminds me of when my wife said I needed to sell one of my old motorcycles, so I put it up for sale for 10x it’s actual value lol. “Sorry honey, no bites yet!”
I don’t hire or advance people that need me to do everything for them - they are there to do a job, as efficiently as possible, in exchange for money. I will, however, coach employees on how to quantify their achievements and how to properly ask for things as part of their personal development - that is what I do to…
If that’s true, that you have spent that long working on diversity issues in education, hiring, and promotion, I would really hope that you’d have more to offer than “use a less discriminatory system”. I would also love to hear exactly how asking someone to quantify why they deserve more than an offered raise is…
Selling a car is bonkers right now. I have a 2017 Fiesta ST with 30k miles on it that I bought new for $17k, and I was just offered offered $16.5k from carvana. Absolutely nuts. Would’ve taken it if a replacement was reasonable right now, but near me there are just no cars to buy (that I want). I was thinking about…
There’s nothing discriminatory about asking people to rationalize their requests for advancement or raises - there’s no argument there. What *would* be a problem is promoting people without rationalization, so that someone else could say a raise or advancement was unfairly handed out and management be accused of…
I think it’s a disingenuous and racist statement to say that people cannot ask for upwards mobility due to the color of their skin or their gender - that doesn’t seem to indicate you’re quite someone whom should be deciding who is and is not an ally, to be honest. While it’s true that there may be some racism in…
He’s against abortion isn’t he? Wasn’t remdesivir developed using aborted fetal cells? I could be wrong but I think I remember reading that... so, won’t vaccinate, is against abortion, is taking a treatment that was possibly created using the results of abortions.
$30K plus for a car that can’t get to Vegas is a no go.
I... would just like to clarify that you are saying I am not an ally, because I do *not* treat people differently based on gender or skin color? I do promote people based on how well they do their job, it’s up to them to sell me on the idea of offering more than I do. It’s not in any way racist to say “if you want…
Ew, this is like being surprised with a picture of someone’s hemorrhoids.
It’s the car equivalent of just being happy to be alive. It’s a car, and it cars. That’s it. No enjoyment, no excitement, it’s a transportation appliance. There’s a certain nobility to that... but they cost too much for the experience of driving one. In something that boring it might as well drive itself.
Pontiac Fiero. It was dent proof! It could be rebodied into anything! It could easily hold a V8 (and a v8 swapped fiero that takes an afternoon to swap was a ridiculously fun car!). They handled pretty well, were inexpensive to maintain, and in 1988.. they were finally getting bespoke hardware and could really handle.
How many configurations do you think you need to carry around? Serious question. If there’s a cloud option, it’s going to be forced, because they’ll use it to aggregate saleable user data. Just do away with it - sure you can only carry around 10 configurations on the device itself, but that’s a perfectly fine…
Oh, I am an ally - I am listening, to an employee that comes to me and asks for things and demonstrates the value in providing those things. I don’t care about your skin color or your gender, I want an employee that is there to work. I’m throwing the problem back because the attitude of a prior reply was one of “I…
Razer synapse is hot garbage. There’s no reason to lock your mouse/keyboard/etc. peripheral settings into a cloud based account. Better to do what logitech does and just store the settings on the devices themselves, so moving computer to computer carries the settings around whether you install the software or not.
As a person whom would be approached about those things, that is not an accurate statement. Over generalizing doesn’t do anyone any good, and neither does hyperbole. Of my pool of employees, white males are consistently the ones that will bring in examples of their achievements and leverage that to ask for things…
