People can have opinions different from yours.

I wonder if an LS swap would fix the maintenance issues lol.

I drove a friend’s sport because I was thinking about buying one and I just couldn’t do it. The novelty of launching hard wore off pretty quickly and the car was totally devoid of personality. I also couldn’t get over how disconnected I felt from the car, and how bad the exterior build quality was. Could fit a pencil

I still wonder who at Honda thought “Man, HDMI ports look great, lets put one on the back of the new civic”.

The secret to beating the system is, do your job, document things you do to go above and beyond, seek additional responsibilities, then bring that documentation to your review and ask for a raise or access to additional opportunities. I can only speak from experience here, but “white guys” as you put it are the

Yes there was some collusion, that happened, but it was mostly hyper competitive engineers that would frequently job hop, taking a job just to make themselves attractive to another company. At least from my time at Apple, the ones complaining about “pay equality” were not the ones putting in the hours to move onwards

The people from that article aren’t the ones getting excited about getting free money for not doing anything.

There are already tons of advancement opportunities. Do you work in retail and want to go work at AppleCare? There’s a path. You spend a bunch of time reviewing log files and are interested in doing QA for graphics hardware? There’s a path. That’s what is frustrating reading this - some people work hard, maximize

Yeah it’s just a company. I wasn’t for or against Apple, it was just a job. I got pushed around a lot because I wasn’t “of the cult”, but it wasn’t a bad place to work. The non-compensation benefits were pretty good, the health insurance was stellar, and they were internally very supportive of education and upwards

iCloud isn’t corporate storage, it’s end user content storage.

I can only speak of the employers I’ve had, but every single one except a retail job in highschool offered training and educational opportunities, whether it was shadowing senior employees to learn more about the job, etc. It just took asking.

Glad you picked up what I was puttin’ down

The all new Stockholm Syndrome would be a great name for a Prius in grand theft auto :)

I worked at Apple for a long time. The biggest differentiator for pay was, who was overperforming then asked for a raise with data to back it up. This is pretty consistent at every other company I’ve worked for. Who shows up on time consistently, gets all their work done, asks for and does extra, documents it, then

If you’re in prison long enough it starts to feel like home. Same thing.

Fiat 500 Abarth, like my photo here. It’s not fast, but it is an absolute blast to zip around in. You can go 10/10ths and still not really be going that fast, but it feels like you are and sounds amazing. Plenty of grip, the awkwardly high seating position makes things feel more exciting... it’s just a good time.

As a fiesta st owner... blend door actuators lol.

Fiat 500 abarth! Has personality in spades, available with a reasonably ok manual, fun to drive, tall seating position that is easy to get in and out of.

I swear every time I see one of those tiburons its a coin toss as to whether it makes me want to barf or I like it.
