Its hard to get people to take buses, autonomous single-cars would be a much easier sell to get people used to the idea.

Specifically in cities - mass transit is going to be a tough sell, so being able to hail a self-driving car would be a good first stop. With machine learning route planning its going to be more efficient anyways. I’d bet the anticipated loss of time would fail to manifest.
I personally am not afraid of self driving cars, I just don’t see the point of *owning* one. City-provided self driving electrics make more sense in an urban setting - have “distribution centers” seeded all throughout a city. You need a ride? Fire up the car summoning app and a self driving car arrives to take you to…

... but i get the feeling you at least know what I mean about the window regulators, am I right? :P
pretty meticulous about maintenance, spreadsheets for every vehicle I own, ~6 months worth of consumables for each car on-hand in the garage. 2 mk5's and a mk6, it’s usually electrical issues or crap like plastic intake manifolds coming apart causing catastrophic issues. I wouldn’t whinge if I caused it :P
I don’t mind out of warranty cars, it’s specifically VW’s. 3 cars, 3 ridiculous *chains* of oow repairs. A single instance of an expensive oow repair wouldn’t leave me jaded, but strings of expensive repairs do. I think it’s just down to how some aspects of newer VW’s are over engineered, so a failure increases load…
I’ve owned enough newer VW’s to confidently state, I will never own another out of warranty VW, excluding pre-1973. They’ve all been fine up until they weren’t, then things tended to get expensive quickly.
Oh I know, I’ve no interest in owning one at all - but if they’re going to pack it full of obtuse gadgetry they have to do *something* to teach people how to use it. Tesla’s tesla, so their demographic won’t read instructions, and the current new owner experience blows, so... putting how to’s on the screen that’s…
The service centers get hammered with people that don’t know how anything works, because the delivery process at present is poo. They spend like 5 minutes teaching you how to use the car then you’re on your own. There’s a giant-ass screen in the middle of the dash, it seems it’d be easy enough to include links for…
My friend worked at a service center in a higher-level position, with best numbers in the region. Randomly, a manager from another service center walked in, took him and his supervisor into a meeting and terminated them for “performance reasons”, and as long as they signed paperwork it was made clear they’d get 2…
It’s just Disney disease - once they locate a marketable property they monetize it into the ground. Iron Man was great, it just feels like the newer marvel movies are there to appeal to children and dumber audiences  it’s like a burger thats all bun and no beef. It wouldn’t be so bad if they would simply…
Wonder woman was great, and christian bale’s batmans. Batfleck killed it for me, I haven’t walked out on a movie in a long time but I was falling asleep anyways. Should’ve trusted my instincts - if affleck is in something it’s generally not worth watching.
I can’t be the only one suffering “Marvel Fatigue” - there are just too many and I don’t have enough [poops] to give anymore. Marvel movies used to be a fun “turn off your brain and watch thingies happen” thing but they’re getting obnoxious.
My neighbor works for CarMax buying beat up broken cars at auctions for them to clean up, repair, and sell. The cars aren’t all all trade ins, and he implied that a very significant number come from auctions.
That animated gif has ruined my office. When I saw it I laughed so hard I farted, and now my coworker is dying of laughter because of not only the gif but the laughfart.
Thats why I think they’ll do it - it works.
I think the whole PC master race thing is a running joke, isn’t it? I use PC because I got tired of *having* to use a controller, when I started using Steam there were very few titles available on both platforms, and I got tired of chasing platform exclusives. I’d love to play the new zelda game on a switch but it…
I just hope developers don’t go all-in with epic, then later after there’s a sufficient “hook” into the devs, epic starts changing t&c’s making the benefit to the devs essentially moot.
