Not addressing the topic of waiters, but I usually tip my bartender very heavily for the first round (open a tab, get drinks, then tip) - I've noticed when I do this, I spend far less time waiting to get the bartender's attention on the following passes by the bar for the rest of the evening. In those non-tipping euro countries... if you tip is it weird? frowned upon? just wondering... for example, staying in town for a week and you really like a restaurant - tip the waiter and expect good service every time you come back?

I don't know how to ask this without sounding like a racist ass (to me at least?) but - if I eat rice with a fork I can eat a lot more rice much more quickly.. but if I eat with chopsticks it takes way longer. I had a 1987 Pontiac Fiero with a 4.9 Cadillac PFI v8. Wasn't the fastest thing around, but the swap took about 7 hours. Once you know the engine comes out the BOTTOM of a fiero, well, things get a lot quicker :)
