A bag of sand is pretty handy too. In a RWD car, just keep it in the back above the drive wheels, and if you need extra traction you can spread some around the wheels. It's not going to get you out of anything serious, but it's helped me just that extra little bit once in a while.

HID bulbs installed in projector housings. Less effective lighting, blinds everyone, and looks stupid. Do it right (actual projector housings) or don't do it.

I keep one of the wifes pocket mirrors in the center console for this. Usually works ;)
