yeah, after we figured out (and read at fiero.nl) that it came out the bottom, well, everything was a lot easier. I later changed a clutch in something like 4 hours, a far cry from the first time I had to drop the engine. It was actually really neat the way the V8 bolted into the cradle with a little finagling, but it

i thought for sure at least a broken finger or two was going to happen

The car was supported with stands, the engine/cradle were being lowered by hydraulic jack. The screwdriver saved my hand from getting squished by the oilpan, so I guess it could've been worse.

While learning that a fiero engine comes out easier from the bottom than the top (during a caddy v8 swap) I had a jack fail, and wound up with a philips screwdriver through my hand. That was fun.

because across my driveway was the clear space closest to the house he always visits, and there were plenty of spots a little further down the road. And, he was doing it *constantly* - I wouldn't poo a first time offender, dude was on like his 8th strike. Of note, hasn't happened since :)

Across my driveway, as in, parking along the driveway, as in fully blocking the entrance. Across, not across from. Read the entire sentence before replying.

Parked in front of my driveway. Friend of our neighbors, and it was far from the first time he'd done it. Words weren't cutting it, and I had to poo.

Dude parking in front of my driveway wasn't having a heart attack, he was being an asshole.

Nicer than me - I took a dump in someone's sunroof for parking across my driveway. I can't get to work on time? Here's a surprise for you.

omnidisksweeper is free and awesome.

Man, if that thing got traction off the line it'd change the rotation of the earth.

fiero?

it's got such a smug, disapproving look on it's front end... like "I know you farted in me"

irresponsible rider.. this is why people hate motorcyclists :(

Thanks for giving us the feminine perspective on how you'd handle it.

yeah, our vw's are made in mexico - my 2010's electrics are fine as was my 2008's, but I think we're talking long term, what can be fixed with parts you can find anywhere, etc. a new VW/TDI might be good for a few years, but I wouldn't call it apocalypse proof.

you need a referrer link so you can get paaaaaaid :P

so, what's your relationship with that application you're recommending? Your post reads like you're personally invested in the app, and it's usually a good idea to disclose that up front if you want people to trust you.

well in hindsight, in a post apocalyptic world, windows that randomly stop working and dashes that don't light up isn't really a showstopper, but I'd rather have something mechanically simple. a baja bug would be a good apocalypse car

haha until electrical issues or DSG problems come out
