Sorry if I caused offence- was a bit of a snarky comment, internet comment disease strikes. :)

I see what you’re saying, and I’d be more inclined to agree with you if Star Wars was a film about racing :) When (as is my fervent desire) they do a Han Solo ‘Kessell Run’ film which is ‘Cannonball Run’ in space, the

Yes, the thing that was unrealistic about the film with the planet-sized weapon, space wizards fighting with laser swords and multiple alien species which all somehow breathe the same atmosphere is the time it took to travel from one place to the next.

Lando agrees.

‘I am altering the deal. Pray I do not alter it any further.’

Here’s a moral tenet I live by: if what someone does can be described accurately by a Darth Vader quote, it isn’t a good look for them.

Legal and moral aren’t the same.

Oh, right, you’re from Philly. That figures.

For the record, I’d find it a bit hard to get to Philadelphia Pride as I live in Scotland, but two friends of mine tell me it’s a fun time. I have in-laws in Haddenfield so you never now, maybe one day if it coincides with an Eagles game.

To get back to what this was

(I’m just paraphrasing how you’re coming across here, since you seem not to realise).

‘I’m not a bigot, honestly. I’m just kind of a jerk. Jerks can be allies, can’t they?’

To be fair though, he’s been laying the foundations for a female Doctor for years, making it explicit in canon that Timelords change sex, having someone offer it as a choice to the Doctor, and then having the Master become Missy, replacing Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart with his daughter, and showing a soldier Timelord

‘I don’t mind gay people, as long as my attention is never directed towards them, or their existence. If sexuality other than my own is mentioned in a public space, I think that’s worth complaining about.’

Jerk.

I, and others, asked him to back his claims up with facts and evidence. He didn’t, and as a result his position was treated as the ridiculous empty claim it clearly was. The idea that liberals are ‘bullies’ for wanting explanations, or that someone who says something that is clearly untrue shouldn’t be called on it,

‘The climate is always changing’ is almost as annoying as ‘look what the old models used to predict, some of them were wrong so the more recent models based on more data, correcting earlier mistakes should be ignored!’

If you think that the fact that older models are less accurate than current models is a reason to ignore science, you don’t understand the way that science works.

To be fair, one party put in a raft of environmental protection policies, signed up to the Paris accords, and their president said ‘we need to keep the majority of the remaining coal in the ground.’ The other party is slashing the Environmental Protection Agency’s budget and remit, and removing all of those policies

Do you, perchance, want to link to any of that published research? You know, so your claim can be objectively verified?

CINEMAS INTERRUPTUS!

DAMMIT THEY JUST TOOK DOWN ROGUE ONE AND I WAS FIFTY EIGHT MINUTES IN!

That’s my thought too- no way the prequels get remade whilst Lucas is alive. I think that the people making Star Wars, people like Kathleen Kennedy who made loads of films with him have actual living, breathing relationships to George Lucas and just couldn’t do that to him.

The other thing is that I have to imagine

Here’s the ones we know will definitely happen:

2 more saga films, ie VIII and IX.
Han Solo Trilogy.

So that’s 3 films.

I reckon they’ll do 2 more Han Solo films, aiming for GOTG-style romps. If one of them isn’t ‘Kessel Run’ inspired by ‘Cannonball Run’ that will be a crying shame.

Here’s some ideas I could see them

My hope is that ‘Han Solo: Kessel run’ was the whole point of the film, and that it was going to be basically a sci-fi remake of ‘Cannonball Run.’

Oh right, he’s THAT asshole, not a new one.
