Am I alone in thinking the Saturn Sky wore it better?

To me, while Toyota and Honda can slap on some plastic bits and say their cars are sporty (because they look like it), most of the Mazdas I’ve owned leaned toward actually being sporty and fun to drive (as far as handling).

I have a theory that all the VW people moved to Mazda when VW became too reliable and ordinary. You know. You can drive a VW for about six years now before they go kaboom.

Mazda is pretty cool, and Honda and Toyota are lame. WHY?? Well, because Mazdas typically match their reliability, look cooler, and have better handling. Plus, they are a small automaker competing against two behemoths who pump out bland cars for the masses.

Is this a good car for my buddy Brett AKA “Bongo” who drank himself out of college Sophomore year back in the early 2000's, and after working some crummy jobs put somehow himself through nursing school, where he met his smarter-and-hotter-than-we-anticipated-for-Bongo wife, who is now the mother of his kids to whom he

Yep, screw volume and go on markup alone. Make ‘em opulent, daring and expensive so the plebs can’t have them. Use Cadillac as a halo brand to ultimately sell more Buicks.

Perhaps if they realized they could start making honest to god luxury vehicles, then people would view them as such.

Sigh. Yeah. That actually looks great. Too bad BMW doesn’t build wings.

What Subaru needs to do to step up their game and keep the STi ahead of the regular WRX is to offer it with the new 2.4 turbo from the Ascent with a sportier head, cam, and turbo tuning and figure out a way to drop the hood and shoulder line to make it look closer to the ground.  In this day and age, it needs close to

Yes, but this is based on huge changes to the cars, rather than evolutions under a reasonably static rule set.

Good point. Nobody wants cheap plastics, but it does feel like you could put “soft touch” plastics on a few surfaces near the driver and charge $5k more for a car, at least in the eyes of auto journalists. I mean, how much more could slightly better plastic or vinyl padding cost to add? My 1968 Mustang had a

It’s cute how these twenty and thirty somethings get all nostalgic and romantic over those old 70s crap can cars. I lived through the horror of a new Vega that would just stop running. In the middle of the road. In January Detroit. I rode in my aunts cute little Datsun that had so many rust holes in it the heater

17-18 Ford Fusion Sport.

Metal related most likely

I agree with both of you. Think about that V8 that is going in the CT-6 sedan... that entire powertrain launched and I get that Cadillac is worried about car sales, but it’s basically screaming to be put into something else instead of being researched and then put to death.

A thought.... Cadillac didn’t just close down several plants.... they could get away with it.

Full Disclosure: I believe 100% this will be a Caddy.

We’re on the same wavelength

maybe we’ll see the new mid-engine 2020 Chevrolet Corvette? But that’s a hard no on the last one, friend. Sorry.

Yes, CHEVY wont be bringing anything......
