I like open world more than you seem to (loved BOTW, etc) but the idea that a game as claustrophobic and progression-centric as Metroid should be open world is fucking insane.

To be honest I don’t really understand the facination with open-world games. Sure, there are some REALLY fun ones out there, but it also feels like it’s one of those words that makes people instantly froth at the mouth and slap the ‘masterpiece’ stamp on games instantly.
I legit pour a bowl of cereal and watch the new directs like I was still 13 years old me. The excitement and nostalgia I get watching them is unmatched by any other gaming company.
