When have the Finals ever been that difficult to predict. You might not get both right but at any point in the time I have been watching the NBA (mid 80s on) the finals match ups usually contain at least one team that most figured would get there at the start of the season.

While I definitely agree with your view of deferment in the case of all non-professional athletes, given the history many athletes have with managing money I do not think it is a bad idea for them to elongate their income streams given how early in life their primary source of income drys up.

If the Cavs have Kyrie it is pretty much the exact two teams in the finals as last year, my guess a pretty much identical result.

I can understand that. He has never played for a team I cared about so I have always seen him as an amusing jester for the NBA. Now put him on a team I cheer for and I am sure he would drive me crazy.

You realize in the last 40 years only 8 finals (a whopping 20% ) have gone seven right? Also those 8 are evening distributed. So why is this series going at when a better Cleveland team lost last year in 5?

My question is that since the games are fixed so the series will go seven games (which is what you are implying with the 100 % odds) then why have only 4 finals in the last 20 years gone 7 games? Because soccer clubs names are considered to be plural even when the look singluar. Kind of the reverse of country names where you have plural nouns and they get treated like singular such as the United States is in North America for example, though that one gets used a lot more so we are not thrown by it.
