I am sure this was yet another iteration of the tired humor but it is one country made up of two islands.

Except the world cup will be on Fox so this will not harm ESPN.

Holy cow, I grew up 20 miles from there. (Sebeka) It is likely one of those things that got determined by what the elementary Phy Ed teacher said since that was when we would have been exposed to it.

What part of northern MN, I grew up right around Bemidji and it was gray duck for us.

It was a lackluster game between two bad football teams, trust me this is the most interesting thing about the game.

I love the apologetic, Is Pepsi OK? Of course my response is always do you have Dr. Pepper? To which the answer is usually a smiling yes.

This confused the hell out of me the other way when I moved near St. Louis . Grew up in MN where Hoosier was just a term for someone from Indiana neither positive nor negative and it was weird to hear it used as a non-place specific insult.

I knew duck duck gray duck was a regionalism, one i continue, but budge is as well? Huh I never thought about it but I don’t think I have heard anyone else but fellow Minnesotan transplants use it.

Nope there is no rule about who throws the ball forward just that only one of them happens on a play.

It was Mitchie’s first game, so likely the most important game of the season for the Bears, they are 1-4 after all not like anyone was predicting a play off run from them.

Somehow knowing that Landry Jones in on an NFL roster makes me feel better about the Vikes shitshow at QB. Not a lot better but just a little.

That was 57 years ago I am willing to bet there has been significant turnover of the fans since then.

Orville is by far the best Star Trek we have been given since DS9, granted there is not a lot of competition for that title.

Wait people are choosing to become Twolves fans? I am scared this might be one of the signs of the apocalypse. As a TWolves fan since the start of the franchise, (I was in junior high then) I don’t think I have ever heard of this happening without the person living in MN.

I would argue even playing atrociously Argentina is more fun to watch than the US team has been since say 2002. And watching than was only fun because of winning and sleep dep.

The Bears will win, with Cook out (haven’t heard that officially but I don’t think we will see him for a while, the injury looked bad live, he was grabbing his knee instantly.) And likely still with Keenum as starter the Vikes will be doing good to score in double digits. I have no doubt Mitchy will end up a failure

Thanks god we don’t, have you seen the numbers he is producing for the Saints? Peterson was an all time great, currently he is less than 3 yards a carry.

the thing I fee is that without the draft the NBA will turn into La Liga, sure it has great soccer but unless you are a fan of Barca or Real Madrid caring about the league is utterly pointless.

It is mainly an excerpt from the autobiography Dr. Z was writing, Peter King finished it working off the notes left behind. Can’t comment on the book but the article was a very nice reminder of my still all time favorite football writer.

You should pick up this weeks issue, good article on Dr. Z and likely the best thing Peter King has written years.
