They could bring back Nicole Perlman, the person actually responsible for the GotG “vision” for which people keep trying to credit Gunn.

Yeah, this post didn’t really make it clear how her part in this situation happened. That she initially simply responded to items which had already been publicly posted by others, then victims responded to her and the conversation organically continued.
They need someone who is roughly the same size, build, and skin tone as the actor playing the part. The most likely scenario is that they could not find someone who checked all 3 boxes.
