While I’m mixed on the TV show — sometimes for things that are definitely in Asimov’s text — Foundation is a win for me for actually showing a distant future that neither revolves around Earth nor resembles it. It’s the kind of imaginative stretching we see too rarely nowadays.

I believe Gawain even says early on that he wants to be a great knight. It’s just that he never really thinks about what that means until he’s in his knees before the Green Knight, and dreaming of a future where he runs away.

average age of a Minecraft player is 24I believe (could be wrong) that the . So I don’t think it’s accurate to say the overwhelming number of Minecraft enthusiasts are under 18

Blah. I don’t understand what’s so hard about putting Netflix and Disney+ up on the monitors and saying “give me something as easy to navigate and with as much potential for discovery as them.”

For all the complaints about Netflix being a few gems and mostly garbage, I can certainly see where if you were a fan of Korean TV dramas or Bollywood musicals, Netflix is better than just the “Stranger Things” and “Witcher” channel.

Have you seen The Green Knight? Is that what you’re looking for? Because I was hyped as hell for that and then like 40% of the movie was just nonsense that the director came up with that had nothing to do with.

This is a fucking hilarious response considering that the article is very much *about* Claire’s experience as a queer gamer and how it seems like the filmmakers didn’t “look outside their own experiences”.

I want a super-extended version of LotR where everyone on their secret mission to destroy the One Ring sings long songs about ancient history all the time.

I have a hard time believing anyone’s regular experience of D&D doesn’t involve humor. A single game? Sure. But humor is an even bigger part of D&D than delivery pizza is.

This is not an article — this is a rambling Reddit post, and one that struggles to make a coherent point, despite the ocean of words unleashed.

First off, everything gets a movie now. It is what it is. D&D hasn’t been a scrappy outsider since 1978 or so. Some of the biggest names in Hollywood are making a Barbie

In the category of semi-companions, Wilfred was far and away the best in the NuWho era. Cribbins did a great job of grounding a very over the top era of the show.

Is it a lot nicer? Amazon’s not great with UI on their websites (which is apparently because of Bezos, who likes the janky look), but Prime Video has few places to go but up.

That’s a shame about the Vegas part. That seems like a ripe era for a really high quality crime show.

That’s mostly due to old content deals. Those are all coming to an end. The days when you’ll see a Batman movie somewhere other than whatever the Discovery/HBO app ends up being called are coming to an end.

Does Crime Story hold up? I remember it being top notch in design and music and, of course, Dennis Fuckin’ Farina.

Amazon seems strangely conflicted about whether or not they give a shit about Prime Video. They have some true gems in there, a lot of garbage, and a lot of stuff that would have been in the 99 cent bin at Blockbuster once upon a time.

Apparently there’s an interface fix coming any day now, at least.

Unbound is, um, not timely in their fulfillment and not great about communicating with backers.

Maybe order this book when it’s much closer to shipping.

Yeah, no shit.

Most of these streaming services are going to fail, because no one needs 10,000 subscriptions, unless it’s compelling niche, like Shudder or Criterion or CrunchyRoll.

“The folks at NBC need a third house” is not a compelling argument.

Good stuff like Rutherford Falls or Girls5Eva wouldn’t not exist if

I feel like you may just not understand the word “regional.”

It’s regional, as I said. There’s no high horse involved. Yes, for sure, there are plenty of “Latinx” folks who haaaaate it — probably the majority — but the notion that no one likes it is a bullshit political talking point.
