Wow. The level of female suicide in the military is now approaching that of male suicide? Wow, I guess it’s about time to start paying attention to suicide in the military. Because when it was mainly men killing themselves, was it really that big a deal?

VOGUE!

Meh, I give them a pass. They were in the game for a long time. The eventual loss must have stung, like a barb to the heart.

There was a rich guy who owned a Boston area construction company who had a house on the Country Club At Brookline when the Ryder Cup was there in 1999. The club wanted to extend a hole near his house so they offered to buy his house for double what it was worth. He said he would sell it for market price if they let

An old high school girlfriend of mine lived in a subdivision that had its own golf course. She and I made out near one of the secluded greens one summer night, and it was one of those magical scenes from adolescence where the possibilities of adulthood and physical relations with a real live girl are perfectly matched

One time, I bet the director of a local country club $1,000 that he would slice into the woods. In a very snobby tone, he informed me that gambling was not permitted at their establishment. He followed that up by declaring that he never sliced. Predictably , he then sliced into the woods, which clearly upset him.

The pricks at Bushwood wouldn’t let us gamble and later tossed Turd Ferguson out of the pool.

Australia is a nation of drunken belligerents. They are just jealous she’s ours.

So it basically says “If the Americans didn’t have all that talent and fan support, they wouldn’t have won that game”.

I’d have put the kid on the floor.

The foul ball etiquette thing has gotten a lot of play over the years - even on this site, and I think it’s bullshit.

Was my friend wrong for not giving the kid the ball?

I agree. While I do think it’s good of adults to give kids foul balls caught at games (cause really most adults will forget about it right away, but most kids will think about it for a long time), but to try and shame someone into doing it is just shitty. If someone chooses to give your kid a ball, be grateful, but

I think it’s perfectly okay to really want to catch one foul ball. If you’ve never caught one before, it is a great feeling. Once you’ve caught one, then it would be good manners to give any others you catch to a kid nearby.

A team starting 0-62 and then winning 100 in a row would be even more exciting. First you’d have the insane losing streak, and everyone would be watching every night after a couple of weeks to see if they could finally break it - and when they finally win it would be insane. AND THEN would come the insane winning

since self-important old rich people who make life hell for everyone else are too common to be considered sacred, and too entrenched to be vanishing.

Former PGA TOUR exec here: The PGA TOUR does NOT love Augusta, in fact just the opposite. The Master’s is not a TOUR event and all it does is diminish the value of actual PGA TOUR events just like the MLB would hate it if the World Series was run by someone other than MLB. It may bring interest to golf, but it takes

I don’t know about Penn State, but I know that at some schools, being in a frat/sorority is virtually mandatory if you want any kind of a life. My school didn’t have any, so I didn’t have to deal with it, but I’ve been told this is true.

Something tells me you haven’t read anything into this case beyond your bias.

Damn, that Republican primary is heating up
