If you believe enough people need the real race reporting and it isn’t being offered, go do it yourself and build a following. Complaining about the content you voluntarily read is moronic.

Why glorify an event where every year someone dies? Jalopnik has not come out and said this needs to stop (though I believe it does), but they absolutely do not have to report on the races. Like many of you have pointed out, the riders supposedly do it for the thrill and bragging rights and many of the most successful

Cops that don’t hold corrupt/bigotted cops to the higher standards we expect are corrupt themselves. Complicity is the enemy of progress and nearly every one of them is complicit.

Your desire to be entertained and support of one’s right to suicide is truly enlightened, please do go on why I should be banned from the internet.

“...hopefully win the prestigious road race of them all”

Let’s legalize heroin and meth while we’re at it!

I honestly don’t know, but how many people die every year from general irish roadracing? Tons of people do dangerous things, but we don’t need sponsors and TV crews there glorifying it.

Lots of people choose to do inherently dangerous things and compassionate people tend to try to stop them.

Because people die at this one specific race every year. No need to see more people die consistently for your amusement or to feed their pride or adrenaline rush.

Ok, then let’s do that and see what happens. Make every rider fund their race out of their own pocket, no sponsor provided bikes or transportation and see how many of them still think it is worth it.

Because it is selfishly dangerous. You might get entertainment out of it, but think of their friends and family. It’s like watching an entertaining form of hard drug addiction.

Take away the money and publicity and see if they still do it. Lot’s of people do selfishly dangerous things all the time and almost everyone with compassion would rather not see them do it. Doing hard drugs is incredibly dangerous and a choice, but we try to save as many lives as we can. If you’re someone that is

I said it last year and I’ll say it again, it is time for this event to be canceled for good. I don’t blame the riders since they need the money and publicity for their careers, but the sponsors and television production companies are complicit in these deaths.

So you didn’t look at the time on the video?

“finish your hit” = watch the puck leave the players stick and make contact less than one second later

Pause the video and take not of the time difference between the pass and initial contact... one second is not late by any means it just looks bad because Marchessault doesn’t brace for the hit at all.

His playoff point totals would beg to differ. His linemates are superstars, but he is still a top 6 forward on most teams that employ someone with his skill set.

He moves the puck when the clock reads 14:16 and is on his back before it hits 14:14 so yes it was a bang bang play.

Less than a second late for finishing a hit from the side in open ice is not illegal.

Watch it in real time, he passes the puck at 14:16 and gets hit (from the side) at 14:15.
