Some early models of the Austin Maestro have the alternator mounted on the bottom of the engine. So everytime you went through a deep puddle the car cut out. Take a lap, British Leyland, for a car that doesn’t work in the rain, for the rainiest island on the planet. 

It is kinda embarrassing this has dragged out so long, especially since a lot of the stuff that was leaked has turned out to be also embarrassing. The more pragmatic and smarter move would be to quietly start brushing all this under the carpet and letting it just fade.
