That's what XenoMike was referring to with his reference to Creative Assembly. Alien Isolation is more Alien than Aliens. The former is distinctively survival-horror, while the latter is more shooter material.

Obviously everyone has the creative freedom to do it however they wish. I'm just saying one way is not necessarily more appropriate than the other.

Depends. Are we wanting an answer to this on a good day or a bad day?

It does expand, actually. By a whole ~30ish pixels, from the looks of it. =x

Incredibly wild speculation, but a legitimate concern nonetheless. I don't personally think we'll see that sort of effect, or at least not to such an extreme, but that too is speculation.

Oh yeah, totally. I play in southern KY and TN several times a month and see all kinds of kids (younger and older) with a complete lack of trigger discipline, or any gun discipline for that matter. Makes me cringe every time I see two younger kids standing next to each other, one with his AK or whatever pointed right

So, like, the same thing we're already able to do without 3D printers? Also, being cautious is one thing and I'm fine with that, but the usage of hyperbole and other fear-mongering tactics take it too far.

Gotcha. Carry on. =x

Eh. I'd say that's going a bit far. There are some quite attractive minimalist designs out there that aren't tacky in the least. Although if all you're looking at is Samsung or Motorola phones, your statement is 100% correct.

In my own experience, getting that reaction from iPhone users is not that difficult. I think they're starting to get tired of it as a platform.

You might be surprised; airsofting is probably bigger in Japan than anywhere else. Those guns he's using aren't cheap either, so I certainly hope he's getting some legit usage out of them, otherwise he's got a very expensive noisemaker/electric toothbrush =)

No tinfoil hats here. It's a fact that news outlets/blogs/etc have been raising a big fuss about 3D printers enabling people to do things that the unwitting public sees as dangerous, meanwhile the same things can be accomplished via other means that are just as easy and much cheaper. 3D printers are amazing, and

I agree, though I'll take it a step further — perhaps the logical thing for toy companies to do would be to release their own easy-to-use 3D printers. The one thing making 3D printers prohibitive to own right now is the cost, which greatly outweighs the cost of whatever you'd spend on toys alone (unless you just

I don't really have a strong opinion either way, and while I do see where you're coming from, I think a lot of it is merely the concept of humanizing things. Breasts may only be persistent in female humans, but that may be all the reason they need to incorporate them into these species. It may not make sense

Fair enough. You got me :D

By the way, I'd like to take this moment to reiterate just how terribad Kinja is. Navigating my way around this comment thread has been an exercise in futility, so I apologize if I missed any responses.

You're right. One is readily doable, the other is not. One is also cheap, the other is not.

That is reassuring, but it still seems like a fairly tactless approach to your wording in the article. I may have read too much into it, but it's not difficult when Gizmodo fairly consistently takes such a sensationalist approach when discussing 3D printing, which is right in line with other media outlets that get up

As opposed to downloading instructions to build one from hardware store parts?
