Glad I could use this again this week...

From the perspective of the child: never ever trash talk the other parent. Ever. Don't say anything negative about them at all. My mother still to this day has never said anything negative about my father (even though he was super crappy). He on the other hand used to constantly trash my mother to me and my sister

So I mentioned earlier in the week that I'm looking into volunteering for RAINN's hotline in their D.C. office; well, I've been approved, and I'll be doing my in-person training in November. Hope I do well.

This one is going to eat all the smaller ones.

I don't know about Gap, but counterfeit Old Navy stuff is a thing. Commonly found at open air markets, flea markets, stuff like that. How do I know? Because when I was a kid, I was poor, yo. And for poor kids, Old Navy is like...a recognizable name. That shows that hey, maybe you're not wearing Hollister or

But a struggling school (in my neighborhood at least) also means huge pressure to join a gang, violence, lack of books and other key resources, etc. so that no matter how smart your kid is they are set up for failure.

The center stays desirable, but affluent commuters moves further and further out as they adopted new means of transportation. As such, former streetcar suburbs tend to be kind of shitty.

I always thought all men were real men, unless they're robots or something.

Honestly, this helps explain why I get a ragey feeling every time I hear a woman brag about how she's a "guy's girl" and just can't find any cool women to befriend because those bitches are so gossipy and backstabby and she's just too cool for other women. If you happen to be a woman who is friends mostly/only with

They didn't state that she had actually shoplifted; it's very possible that her bag looked heavy, and that's why she was stopped.

I just really want to hang out with Mariska Hargitay and become her friend and talk about what a badass Benson is and do amazing activism to raise awareness about and prevent domestic violence and sexual assault. Please?

Uh, no, it's stoatally different.

MOOOMM!!!!!

I think all paychecks should be measured in "local bottles of wine".

No, you're right. It's a sweet story, but when I was reading it (and tearing up because, obviously), I couldn't help thinking "maybe they shouldn't have been driving." I realize elderly folks often drive long past when they should stop because there's no other option than being housebound, but it does seem very sad.

It's sweet as fucking hell and...damn...I might catch hell for this, but it's a good argument for why public transportation for the elderly needs to be improved and why people should perhaps be discouraged from driving at some point.
