Awesome! I am so glad you found someone to help you work on stuff for your dad, once you are out of the house. The counselor carry-over of information is great, too! Happy you're going back soon!

My gas station story, which is not creepy at all, goes like this. In the late '90's, some powerful guy in my town killed his mistress, who coincidentally was a low-level secretary for the governor. When they arrested the guy a month after she disappeared, his alibi was that he had taken her to dinner in a nearby big

The chair of my department told me exactly that. I was wearing a Banana Republic dress to teach. A totally appropriate dress that I bought in the "for work" section of the store. The chair of my department told me that I should not wear dresses to teach if I wanted to be respected. What???? I'm an assistant prof. A

I used to have a webcam on top of my monitor and I always kept it pointed directly up at the shelf above it when not in use. I'm just a naturally paranoid person. The one time I forgot to reposition it after closing a video chat window and turning off the monitor, I immediately proceeded to undress in preparation for

Some of this has happened to me. Without the extortion...because - let's face it - anything caught on my webcam would lull most folks into a coma.

Yup - it was Lower Merion High School (my cousins are students there). In that case the web cam spying was possible due to "security" software that the district elected to have pre-loaded before distributing the laptops. Their excuse was that the laptops were district property. Pigs.

Wasn't there a high school in PA a while back that was spying on kids and their families through the webcam on the school-provided laptops?

Victims of this are not exclusively women.

I'm pretty sure the obsession with penguins is not limited to Asia. I think everybody just thinks penguins are adorable.

What documentary is this from?

I work in television advertising and I saw the 2 Broke Girls pilot at a special advanced screening before it aired. All of my white co-workers thought the pilot was hilarious, while I was just shocked at how easily people laughed at the pathetic and embarrassing stereotyping. I was so upset. I hoped that show would

The Asian-American community remains a great target for racism, I think in part because they're perceived as "successful," so they can't possibly marginalized. Plus, it's "accepted" that Asians are "weird." It's not even questioned among most people that Asia is "exotic."

I think Asians have it the worst in the entertainment industry, and I say this as a black woman. How often do we see Asian characters that are NOT stereotypes? I can only think of one: Mindy Kaling on her show The Mindy Project, but then again, it's her show so of course she's not going to be racially insensitive

I see your "terrible and offensive shows will die a quick death in the marketplace" and I raise you Two and A Half Men.

If we're lucky, maybe we'll eventually get a Family Guy crossover episode!

I came here to suggest this. Don't try to fix it, just let it die a miserable death and ruin the careers of everyone it touched.

Why call for them to re-shoot it, let it fail like it deserves to.

Here's a story about my Mom (RIP):
