Thanks. I hope you and your brother are doing ok. My dad really isn't taking the whole empty-nest idea very well, and we are the only ones who know about it. If I hadn't bought a Netflix membership and linked it to our TV, I don't know what would be happening right now. (Sadly, it's the best investment I've ever made.)

Thanks. Cookies and tea sounds great right now :)

I remember your comments on my last post! Thank you so much.

Thanks. I'm counting down the days until I return to school and can re-immerse myself in the things I love :)

Thank you. I read your other post in this thread and just wanted to say that I really admire you for bravery and strength. *hugs you right back*

Thanks. As crazy as it might be, I'm still harboring some feelings for the ex - but right now I am waffling between "it's all my fault!" longing and anger at the way I was unceremoniously let go.

I posted a few weeks ago asking for advice on how to deal with my dad's abuse and anger issues, and this past week took some of that advice! To all the Jezzies who have helped me out, thank you so much. This past week's events could not have happened without your help and encouragement.

I have seen a few larger-than-average men pull off this look - it works if the rest of the outfit is similarly on-trend.

Fellow A-cup with the same issues. All my bras are from Aerie. Even the lightly lined ones completely hide the pokeyness, and the styles are adorable! I have had some for about 3 years now, and they are holding up really well. I find them kind of expensive but they always have really good sales.

Thanks. I've already done quite a few internships already - a combination of depression, rejection from every internship I applied to in my city, and a lack of money to spend the summer elsewhere led to me just staying home for this summer. I now realize it wasn't the best choice for my emotional health.

Thank you for your advice. I used to be confrontational as well when I was younger, but it was all chalked up to me being a 'difficult teenager'. I realize that my sister is doing what she thinks is the right thing to do, but I'm afraid he's blowing her off and not paying attention to what she is saying - I'm not sure

I'm glad that you and your siblings were able to get out of your situation. I only have one year left in my studies. My intended career doesn't have a lot of job stability, but I'm doing as much as I can to ensure that I can become completely independent as soon as possible.

Thank you for your advice. Thankfully I'm just home for the summer, I will be moving back into the college dorms once the fall semester starts. I hope that if the pastor can intervene somehow he will be willing to go to a support group or something - I will definitely be going to counseling. It's been a tough year so

Two family issue related questions:

Thanks. Best of luck to you too.

The counselor told me that the only thing disclosed was the fact that I wasn't interested in self-harming. Thanks for the heads-up about YWCA, unfortunately the nearest one to me is in the next state over. :/

I recently watched The Truman Show (comedy) on Netflix with a friend of mine. It's a pretty old movie but we were blown away by its spot-on social commentary - especially with the recent Kardashian phenomenon.

Thanks. I'm really sorry you had to experience all of that stress at once, I hope that you're staying well now that you're temporarily back with your family. Depression really knocks the wind out of you.. if I hadn't been going to therapy while at school I don't know what state I would be in now. Things are actually

Thanks, I'll go check out that book :)

The difficult thing is, within my community and among my friends (mostly Asian-American) this kind of behavior is seen as normal and sometimes joked about, which makes it hard to discuss seriously (since everyone experiences it). I remember my ex telling me that my dad really does care about me, since he's letting me
