I almost prefer to let them stall the car just to get that unknown fear out of their system.

Apparently it isn’t meant to be used as a valet mode, but rather an anti-theft mode. Which further begs the question: Why let the engine run at all without that code?
No, man, this isn’t a piece shitting on the Richest Man In The World, this is a piece shitting upon some really awful UX decisions. Sad is not being able to deal with actual valid critiques of technology without feeling like it’s an attack on Elon Musk, who I suspect will weather this onslaught just fine.
Really?? Oh man, They are gonna be so disappointed when they find out the Supra 100% feels like a BMW...
They may not be much to drive (I wouldn’t know, I haven’t been behind the wheel of one), but I do admire them for standing out in the sea of grey, white and black crossovers that more or less blend together. These days, I find myself smiling at any car that comes in a bright color and some sense of its own…
FCA producing a cool dead ender concept car with no chance of productions has felt like Lucy with a football for a while now.
Pretty obvious its for people who want an off-roader that doesn’t get shit mileage.
The average American’s commute is 16 miles. My commute certainly falls in line with that. I could drive this to work, charge it there, drive it home, charge it there. On a long trip, it’s just another Jeep. On my daily commute that…
A long ago job involved a small fleet of Willys and Kaiser military models from the golden age of Army-Navy surplus. I’d miss the ability to flip up the seat and use the Mk. I Eyeball to assess the fuel level. Not sure the gas gauges ever did work right, and for sure by the time we got ‘em, trusting the gauge was a…
How much wood would a BMW M4 chuck, if a BMW M4 could chuck wood?
Wow I kinda love those wheels! Despite a few comments to the contrary in here, the grill is still terrible.
I’m curious:
Most of the stuff I see about new EVs over the last several years has left me with a sour taste in my mouth because the emphasis seems to be on EV’s being joined at the hip with ADAS. Stuff like this gives me a glimmer of hope that I’ll be able to have what I want: a good basic pickup that happens to be an EV. Still…
Counterpoint: all marketing is lies, and if you believe anything a marketer says then you are a dumbass. Also, all marketers should walk into the sea and never return.
In my opinion the US-spec E36 M3 is better, the simpler engine is far more reliable and the cheaper US-spec stuff makes it a much more economical track car. For track use, the E36 M3 is one of the best.
“Plus the miscellaneous other suspension”
I love these things. I first drove one in 1999, when they were still current, and my god, it was an amazing experience. My friend let me drive hers, and when I got back into my own car at the end of the night, everything felt broken. I’m sure that not everyone who’s driven an E36 M3 has the same experience, but to me,…
I had a 1980 MGB that I had painted John Deere green with spray cans from Tractor Supply. I was pretty famous in my club because I would drive that car from Florida to Maryland and Rhode Island without a qualm. Did I break down? Sure. But I met a lot of nice people on the way who were happy to help me out, and I…
In 1996 or so, a friend of mine told me his mom wanted to get rid of their old station wagon. It was a 1980 Pontiac Catalina Safari station wagon with the notorious Olds 350 Diesel. It had been sitting for about 5 years. I brought two good car batteries and got it to crank over, but wouldn’t start. I administered a…
I live for sketchy cars.
Had an MGB that I always carried a 5 gallon jug of water in the trunk. Not because it would overheat, but because long freeway trips would catch the driver’s carpet on fire. The water was to put that out.
First car I bought with my own money was a Peugeot 504 diesel. You couldn’t put anything…
