Kind of like a tall version of a Mini with the same power.
Kind of like a tall version of a Mini with the same power.
This is why I am not super crazy interested in new manual cars, because there are so many even more amazing used manual cars out there. Would I be disappointing if BMW stopped selling manuals for instance? Only slightly. The BMW I most desire is an e36 M3. Alfa Romeo? I want a GTV-6. I don’t have a super high interest…
I have a friend that ordered one, a long wheel base Rubicon in drab green, manual transmission, heated cloth seats and no navigation. It is a very fun vehicle to drive. What is really funny though is when it came in at the dealer they had accidentally ordered black instead of green, my friend was none too happy…
I got the recall notice about a week after selling my 2002 e39 M5. I sent the information to the new owner and he was quite appreciative. I believe he had it fixed. I had received a notice from BMW about a year before receiving notice that parts were in and I could take it to my local dealer.
You are not wrong. I have said a few times the only thing missing on my R56 Mini is awd. The thing would be an awesome little rally car in the snow. Just like an e30 325ix.
I have gone both ways. I purchased a 1 owner e39 M5 that was 11 years old and only had 69k miles on it. It had only ever been serviced by the same tech at the local BMW dealer it’s entire life. It had some poorly taken care of paint and the clutch needed replaced. However it was pretty good otherwise. I replaced the…
This is exactly why an e36 3 series is such a magic car to drive. Revving out the engine most of the time to keep up with most traffic is just plain fun. When the roads get hilly one actually needs to downshift out of top gear to get up hills, turns are an excuse to blip the throttle and hit a lower gear. So much fun…
I don’t like the look of most modern cars. This car however I can get behind. Restrained flare. Very sharp yet now nearly as shouty looking as most modern cars. I kind of want that exact car but with a revvy 6 cylinder and a manual transmission.
What’s funny is the BMW M5X pictured there is a really fun revvy engine compared to almost all modern turbo mills. The M52b28 is what made me decide I prefer high revving engines you have to wring out to use over torque monster engines.
Likely. They are also one of the few companies that offers a manual on every model they sell, regardless of engine option.
I hope there is a 2 door hatch version of this too!
Favorite headlights ever, I really like these.
The only MR2 I have seen at an autocross spun out one to two times on every run. Nobody else spun out that day. I suspect they are twitchy or the owner was way over doing it.
Wooo Depeche Mode! That would be perfect for this car.
Meh, that would mean that I would have to get a Facebook account. I don’t need that in my life.
I must be in a backwards where I live. We have an Alfa dealer in town but the nearest Jag dealer is 100 miles away. When Suzuki pulled out of auto sales in the US that dealer picked up Fiat and Alfa.
The 80s and 90s is definitely the era that I intend on collecting.
I love my H body. The Oldsmobile 88 is claimed to have a softer suspension than the LeSabre, I haven’t ridden in one to verify that.
I own both! I have a 1999 Oldsmobile 88 and a 1999 BMW 328is. You are correct, the Oldsmobile 88 is the lowest stress driving experience out there. Comfortable, torquey, reliable. Pretty much the opposite of the e36.
It is that way here in Erie, PA as well. When someone uses their horn here usually most people look around to figure out what out of town person is being so rude to make that much noise. Because of it, it scares the crap out of me in traffic when someone uses a horn... I don’t like big cities.
