Mark 2 Sprites had a rear shelf behind the front seats. Literature of the day said that you could lay a toddler back there or a small kid could sit back there while driving.

I really like the back end. The rest is ok, if the roof line were a bit lower I might like it more, but I also like long stretched out cars.
944s have cavernous trunks under that wonderful rear hatch. I have a friend with a 944 and an FRS, the 944 though physically smaller on the outside has much more interior space because it has a real hatch as opposed to a trunk. The 944 also has 20 times better rearward visibility.
My parents refused the minivan as well, even with twins. They always went the large sedan route. My mom sold her Oldsmobile Cutlass for a Benz W126 420SEL. The W126 was replaced by a BMW e38 740iL and then a second e38 740iL. They were great kid cars, lots of rear seat room, big doors, and easy to maneuver since they…
I bought an R56 Mini with a factory rear seat delete. It is a very practical car for myself and my twin brother. However it is quite inconvenient when we want to take friends along. Honestly the e39 M5 we had, was a much more appropriate car for 30% of our car usage but with my brother’s 100 mile round trip daily…
I am certainly happy for this. I own a fair bit of Tesla at $205 per share. I told my financial adviser at the time, “only two things are going to happen to Tesla, they are either going to do great things or get bought out, neither of which is bad for their stock.” He agreed and I am happy for it now. Question is…
Do I know anyone with a new Buick, no. Do I know anyone with a 90s LeSabre or 00s Lucern, heck yeah. Those two vehicles combined are probably the most popular sedans where I live.
It really is easy to keep an old classic alive now. I have a 62 Sprite that is super easy to get any part for with Moss Motors or eBay. It seems that parts are more avaliable for it than even my 99 Oldsmobile since there is no enthusiasts market driving the need for GM H body parts like there is for Spridgets.
They should have brought this.
I love these things. I think this is one of the best modern car designs out there. This and the GTV6 are my favorite Alfa designs.
Last year I saw a guy daily driving one as a student in college. It wasn’t in great shape but it didn’t look rusty.
When my parents had twins, they replaced an Oldsmobile Cutlass and a Pontiac Grand Prix with a W126 Benz 420SEL and a W124 Benz 300E. Both Benzes were about 5 years old and the key was that they had rear doors. The W126 was a great kid car. Big rear doors, large back seats, and very safe.
I believe the current tape in our ZJ is Randy Travis Old 8x10.
A few sold in Canada where available with a clutch and a 5 speed. I once saw one on eBay.
Spent 10 years chasing a sensor issue on our 97 ZJ that the dealer could never replicate. It would hesitate very bad under acceleration when the engine was cold. Finally last year decided to change the O2 sensor, fixed it instantly. We stopped taking it to a dealer 5 years ago and now go exclusively to an independent…
My family has had a 97 ZJ 4.0 i6 since it was brand new. What is wrong with the exhaust manifolds on them? We have had lots of sensor problems but that is really it. Well, we have had lots of rust issues. Major portions of the frame and suspension needing to have new box sections welded in to be safe, also a few…
Very nice. My parents still have the 97 4.0L Grand Cherokee Limited that they bought new in 97. It has 94,000 miles on it. The interior is still super nice. It ran like crap for about 10 years, it liked to hesitate power randomly. Last year we got a code for an O2 sensor, replaced it and now it runs absolutely…
