Before leaving my townhouse, the old neighbors were indoor chain-smokers. When they mentioned their furnace fan wasn’t working on a particularly hot day and they didn’t have the dough to get a repair man out, I told them I’d take a look (they sadly weren’t doing so great while we were neighbors).

Humongous, you say?

The resale value on this thing is gonna go like the light that burns twice as bright because Hyundai luxury car.

I can’t wait to see these all over the place with parents of one hauling ass through town and struggling to park it at their dear *-aden’s soccer/hockey/ballet practice along with the Escalades, Range Rovers, and Yukons. It’s a taste thing, but no one actually USES these to their potential or price. Go #teamSUV. Sigh.

This is glorious.

My Star Wars super fan Brother-in-law called his Trans Sport the “Rebel Transport” back in the day. I guess it’s a little short to be a storm trooper, despite having the mask.

Seeing the rotors in action, the ‘hundred hand slap’ jumped immediately to mind...

It’s gonna sell like gangbusters, but that rear 3/4 shot sure shows off the horrible proportions. At least they seem to have made it a proper hatch. I hope it’s super successful.

It’s not just plain but the proportions, like the X, are way off.

I’m with ya. I thought it looked kinda baby-S-ish before, which, the S is a great looking car, good proportions, etc. Now, it does look like an X and the X is a cow and pretty hideous. Some designs just need more love than ‘make it taller.’

You’ve got the right mindset. We’ve been doing fine with TWO kids (2yo and 9mo) in an ‘09 CR-V. We’ve been thinking about up-sizing to a minivan, but haven’t actually run into a situation where we would HAVE to. That MAY change when they get into sports in a couple years. May not.

Same here. Full cage, always. I cringe at the thought of what my ‘tougher’ buddies wearing half or no shields could be in for out there. We’ve also had our share of hot heads who don’t get booted from the league quickly enough and take these kinds of liberties out there.

Dunno, but these turkeys sure seem to be busted up about him being gone.

They later found a note tied to the turkey’s leg:
“Dearest Mark,

I miss you so much, I just can’t stand living in this world anymore.

Endless love,
Turkey”

I love how TSN calls this a ‘fluke’ high stick.

ROFL old guy jokes. +1

Yeah, the ‘self policing’ aspect of fighting in hockey is something I never quite got on board with, especially when it’s taken past the point of punishing someone who got away with a cheap shot to punishing a player because they’re too good (e.g. Thomas Hertl). Let the officials/reviews/league handle punishing

I have Andrew Tobias’s The Only Investment Guide You’ll Ever Need and a good chunk of the beginning is on saving and living within your means, not even investing. There’s really only one paragraph in there you need to read and it goes something like...

HOW DID I MISS THIS? I’ll speak on behalf of my wife as she has no kinja account...
I bought this ‘92 Tracker ragtop as a daily driver in 2010. Had a leaking downpipe that set off car alarms, was a 5-speed, RWD, no working A/C, and rusted EVERYTHING.

I agree with the tax on the poor part, but build in incentives or a system by which they get their vehicles inspected/maintained for little or no money and I’m all in. I’m in Illinois and we’re “too broke to pay for schools” though, so good luck on that.
