My home state of Illinois would find about thirty ways to tax this, make it unaffordable, cause corruption within and embezzle funds from it but dammit we need this. Build in a way for low income folks to get relief on inspections and repairs (they gotta get to work/childcare) and even better.

1) The EPA and “THE GOVERNMENT” are not businesses (what you refer to as ‘the real world’) and don’t have the same goals.

Re: best sports to watch drunk. Can confirm that #4 is accurate, but only if it’s a minor league or local hockey team. Beer is usually cheaper, seats are closer for less, and the players are chippier. It’s a great time. When the Chicago Steel played at the Sears Center and I worked near there, was a great time to just

I have what’s lovingly referred to as an ‘Engineering Hammer’ by Craftsman for just such tasks with stubborn equipment.

This slayed me.

I really wanna star this, but you have 69...

Or, in the case of the forthcoming Longmeadow Parkway in my neck of the woods (Kane County, IL) TWO decades+.

I never thought of the F-Type as a modern 944, but it totally makes sense. The proportions (not the overall size, of course) are quite similar. Every time I see one, I’m newly impressed at how gorgeous it is.

I bought mine sight unseen in Oklahoma City (I live in Chicago). Had a local PCA guy go have a look for me to make sure the owner wasn’t BS-ing and had it transported. Good luck!

Assuming it runs, has been well maintained, is complete, the valves didn’t touch the cylinders (30k interval timing belt on an interference engine), and the interior is OKAY, NP all day for $5k and that mileage. I’d ask for photos of the hood, looks like it got hailed on.

BTW, I had the exact same experience - I had a

I didn’t even think that could be Volvo’s Love Gun going off.

Seeing them go off in the slow-mo version of the shots and also the array of things going ‘pop’ in the above car view, this seems like the most likely answer to me as well!

Ah, the ol’ Russian Goodbye.

I parked in space 69 at the train station this morning. It’s the first time I’ve remembered which spot it was to pay for parking in ages.

What are those charges going off near the top of the hatch in the frontal test?

Ack, I just reposted Meadowdale. I go to the car show there every year and like to bike the trails as it’s local to me.

The old Meadowdale International Raceway is down the street from my house! Between West Dundee and Carpentersville, IL, it was a 3.2 mile circuit open from 1958 to 1968. It’s now a forest preserve with some great MTN bike trails. The historical society puts on a great car show there every year now too.

That doesn’t suck. THIS twin-turbo LS2 powered 944 SUCKS. Also it’s looking at you. And smiling.

My brother put over 250k miles on his ‘01 which we bought after it was retired from rental fleet service. Besides brakes, fluids, and a tune up the ONLY thing we had to replace was the water pump. It was also in two medium sized fender benders. I’m pretty sure he only changed the oil twice a year, too. BEAST. Still

My parents retired to Costa Rica and I was there four years ago when my dad had a stroke and later died in a San Jose hospital. The Ambassador’s office and staff were nothing short of outstanding in helping us handle his death, the paperwork, and necessary arrangements to have his remains respectfully brought back to
