4th Gear: “included limits on charging EVs during blackout”

Use taxes are far more expensive for people in lower incomes, who often have to live farther away and don’t have time flexibility.

Or they’ll just rent them.  Housing is still in short supply in many markets.

I’d suspect because gas stations probably existed prior to dealerships being pervasive.

I’ve imagined a concept I call a sky anchor. The vehicle fires a *long* wire with a drogue into the atmosphere while skimming above. Similar to how a tanker would drop anchor and drag it to slow down.

what significant cost? I only have to fill up every two weeks on average.

the continued burning of fossil fuels to move your car is a significant cost too.

the actual answer is to stop implementing ‘use’ taxes like gas taxes. They punish poor people the most.

yes, exactly.

The answer is beyond simple. Odometer for miles driven factored by the vehicle registration (make/model).

Every EV owner will happily pay a per mile driven tax that’s levied against all vehicles.

Did they ever loosen the restrictions from Mad Cow i.e. time in Europe?  I used to donate regularly but then they severely restricted it (I’m over 6 months)

Interesting!  thank you!

He’s showing us what a gift Howard Hughes’ hermitism was to society.

He’s literally just the energy guy...with money. He revs people up to do the work. And as noted, they ‘manage him’ to not get in the way of that work.

yes. a very very simple, few syllable phrase that can be basically stored on the device.

I’m pretty sure the voice recognition is done remotely isn’t it? there isn’t a ‘local’ component. i.e. does it work if the internet is down?

Just as likely in the reverse:

Body camera being “turned off” in a citizen interaction results in job termination in a lot of major police forces

Pretty safe to assume the cop’s body camera is turned OFF. And since they have been proven to delete evidence...
