That’s fair, I was just remembering a quote saying that Subaru was providing the AWD system.  Which may have been more of a marketing thing given the actual tech differences you detail ;-)

Assuming you want the AWD option, I believe Subaru is providing that part of the kit, I’d trust Subaru’s mechanics on it over Toyota’s.

Isn’t the difference here is that his screen didn’t freeze up, the car did - which could look like the former, but is a very diff scenario.

I would guess there are studies and papers showing the flow of debris within a glacier. i.e. since rocks are heavier/denser than the ice would they move down towards the bottom over time.
