“by the worst of society and the worst of bureaucratic bullshit”
Agreed. Though I’m by far not the target market. I’ve bought a grand total of 2 cars since 2003, both new.
I thought I’d heard that one of the reasons for the number of trucks was just efficiency. they aren’t all fully loaded, but are uniformly loaded. i.e scaffolding trucks, a speaker trucks, lighting trucks etc. so you can move fast and quick in order of need of stage building.
I’d be all in for states being able to do their own thing...as long as the red states don’t come with hat in hand when reality bites them in the ass.
Agreed on the Senate being the important part.
Where did Tesla get it’s electricity?
Our focus seems to be on interstate charging networks. Which is stupid, because it only really helps the rural population regularly, and they are a small population.
Both can be true at the same time. Hence, there being a significant problem in the system.
They could sell those CPO’s in packs of 3....
I think one issue that will be a major factor is that EV’s will last longer than ICE cars on avg with less maintenance and less complicated systems.
The gov’t will give the order or *really strong opinion* to shut down. The literal life and death consequences of that dictate you don’t have or want private interests making that call - CA’s private company shutdowns show that pretty clearly.
I’m sure there will be *some* use cases, but mostly ground military stuff is going to be the very last if ever to switch over.
Except the ‘sane’ ones that live on my street still think Hillary would have been worse. The husbands voted for Trump twice, their wives voted against Trump in 2020 b/c duh, but hey, in VA in 2021, they went right back to GOP that is lock step with Trump.
the north/south orientation is *everything* for one coming at us. one way it’s nothing, the other it’s a serious problem so an *hours* notice isn’t exactly a solution.
Does this mean Amazon will start paying it’s drivers for the pee breaks now?
Rail isn’t effective at last mile delivery and never has been intended for that.
No a CME isn’t going to harm individual devices...unless they’re connected to the grid. CME’s while strong are fairly dilute. It’s when that energy gets captured by an antenna (our electrical grid) that’s 100s or 1000s of miles long that charge is funneled to a line and zaps the transformers at the ends of the long…
A Carrington Event scenario is probably one of the better ones for those with disabilities. It’s mostly going to be an issue of power for a few years max while transformers are rebuilt.
I totally nuked it. Just look at it. Yep, that was totally me.
