Mine spends a surprising portion of its use loaded reasonably close to 1 ton. And no, I don’t want a bigger truck. Because when a truck isn’t being used to carry things, it’s parked. Parked trucks take up space.

No, one ton used to be compact truck territory. My 26 year old compact truck, sitting right outside, is rated for 1995 pounds. Because that’s what pickup trucks used to be for: carrying things.
I just gasped out loud at my desk. This might eat into my savings. But if they’re making a real small work/play truck. A real one. Not a family hauler. The kind you can’t buy anymore. An update of the rusting one I have sitting outside in the parking lot right now. I will buy it.
On Alexa: “...the thing is a pain in the ass to use. The one I have at home has become a glorified kitchen timer and music player...”
Oh yeah it’s good. I’m not proud, but I am willing to admit that I’ve already found my way into two of them.
And as you suggested, the one with fresher (and more) Cheetos was better.
Everything you said is spot on. I’m one of those diesel fans. But neither I, nor any of the other diesel car owners I know, would even give the Equinox a thought. It’s just the wrong type of car for that market.
Diesel fans, to even become diesel fans, have to be paying attention enough to care. The Equinox, and cars…
Also, importantly, there are very, very few people on a mine site. (At least relative to the area they cover.) And those that are there have been through a whole lot of safety training emphasizing that the drivers of the machines cannot see them.
A couple questions, if anybody has first hand experience. (I’ll be doing some web searching for answers too.)
1. What’s the functionality if I don’t pay for a subscription? Notification and live view only? Or is there some limited clip storage? (I hate subscriptions.)
2. Can you set depth for the motion detection? My…

1993 Toyota Pickup. Or Hilux, if you aren’t in the US. 1995 pound payload.
The shortest Frontier is 32" longer than my pickup. That’s quite a lot. It’s also 6" wider.
And they won’t give you a manual transmission and 4wd at the same time. I didn’t make it far enough through the configurator to know what you have to select to get the 3/4 ton payload rather than the 1/4 ton payload.
1st gear
I’ve been saying this for... must be ten years now.
FWIW, you can get enough rise even in a regular height garage to make a big difference. Sitting on a stool is a lot better than laying on the floor!
I’m a little less fond of the previous generation TDI serviceability than you are, but I see your points. I was annoyed with the need for an oddball socket to get the oil filter cap open, and cartridge filters are always messier than canisters. I’ve never used an extractor, but underbody aero is pretty much…
Did you say easy oil change? On a new TDI? Is this one of those cases where the internet doesn’t transmit sarcasm properly?
WOW does that look good.
They never are willing to sell us the good stuff.
I did the same little flinch at the top image just like I do when I see one in a parking lot. The current Odyssey is such an aesthetically unappealing vehicle to my eyes. Like somebody bumped into the designer’s desk while he was drawing the belt line, and he couldn’t be bothered to reach for his eraser to fix it. Why?
Oh, sure, the 40 year old with three kids depending on her can just hop out of the workforce and live without income for 4 years to get that “free” degree. Or maybe night classes after the kids go to bed, for a lot longer?
First, you know there isn’t a number anyone can quote you. So I question the sincerity of your point. But in case you’re serious, you must understand that nobody makes an important decision, like spending tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars and four or more years of life, on only one factor. Everyone does a…
I’m sure I’ll be buried in the greys here. And probably I’ll just get flamed otherwise. But I’m just amazed nobody is pointing out the other side of this: When you change the rules so drastically halfway through the game, you create different losers. What about all those people that chose not to go to college, to…
