No Oxford comma I see...
Perhaps weirdly, I’ve felt MUCH more of the described feeling for my cars than for my kid. I guess it’s because I see no positive in a damaged car. But I’ve seen, in my own life experiences, immense positives from knowing how to handle injuries and setbacks. I’ve been hurt a bunch of times, and I’ve learned a lot from…
“You’ll pick up one of these coupes and hang on to it for two or three years max, then life will dictate something more practical.”
Who exactly is teaching southern kids this crap? Is it their parents? My parents sure didn’t give me history lessons, so that seems odd. Is it the schools? It’s tragic to think that public schools (any schools really) would spread misinformation.
I’m particularly interested as somebody that moved to The South* fairly…
Regarding the headline:
If you’re wondering whether you have a “home theater”, simply ask yourself this question. Could a 118$ soundbar/base possibly be a positive “makeover”? If yes, then you do not have a home theater.

Damn you’re negative.
Most of us that post look first to see whether the point we thought of has already been posted or not. If we see it, we star it. If we don’t see it, we comment ourselves. There’s no thought whether or not we’re the only ones to have had the thought. If a few other people had the same thought…
Interesting. I did my own analysis on this at one point, and my conclusion was that biking to work was more expensive than driving. Maintenance cost on a bicycle is a little lower than a car, but fuel cost is substantially higher.
This of course depends on your diet. If you use canola oil as your primary fuel source,…
My wife and I were just discussing this on the way to work today!
There’s a car we regularly see on our commute with a vanity plate. We’ve been seeing it regularly for about a year now. That entire year, it has had 2 marker lights out.
I simply cannot comprehend the mentality that cares so MUCH about image on the road…
We’re veering a little off topic here, but what you said hit close to home for me. I lived that life. I had that terrible commute for years.
I moved away from the congested city a few years back. I moved to the outskirts of a smaller town with much better weather and much less traffic. And you’re absolutely right: I do…
Okay, that makes some sense. IF people aren’t already doing that.
I’m in total agreement with the first part of your comment. But this part:
“People will just drive a little less.”
I don’t know this one, but hopefully someone in our community will.
Honest truth is we haven’t driven one yet. We love the way the Panamera handles. The assumption is that the taller Macan must give a lot of that up. I know, I know, drive one before we write it off. But we have this deep seated disdain for anything that looks like a crossover, and we just haven’t gotten past it yet.
I ask this both as a current wagon owner whose car VW would love to buy back AND as someone currently considering buying a Porsche.
They haven’t even figured out whose gun it was.
While we’re on the subject of tools for Ikea furniture, here’s a tangent.
Sedans are for suckers. Wagon or bust.
1. How do people end up in these huge group rides? And is it on purpose? I’ve been riding on the street for the majority of my life (Holy shit I’m old.), and I’ve never ridden with that many people at once. (Excluding going to the kind of event where bikes take over a town, like Bike Week or Sturgis.)
1. So you’re done with name calling then. Great.
