I'm worried that my refrigerator has stopped running, and since my apartment's office is closed until Monday, I don't know what to do! I don't have a lot of money and can't afford to call out a repair person myself, and also can't afford to replace everything in there. But I also don't want food poisoning. :P

It probably isn't worth too much at all, but people were touched by the fact that the woman was about to sell her most prized possession that she'd had since childhood in an attempt to keep her electricity on.

The idea of a newborn being plopped down on a chair in a hospital waiting room and left there while the mother was attended to briefly flashed through my mind. :)

I had the same done, they took out all four at the same time, and had to break apart two of them to get them out (I got to keep the other two! Yayyyy!), and while there was tugging and crunching, the worst part was how long it took and how boring the whole thing was. It went on forever, and I wasn't allowed to wear

I don't have kids and don't want them, but if I did, I would think that I would want to be awake for something like that. When I look past my horror of pregnancy and birth, I think that it would be kind of neat to be able to see that as it happens. The idea of hospitals not having nurseries for babies anymore is more

I think this is great. I hate the idea of general anesthesia, and have refused it whenever I've had dental surgeries in the past. I'm afraid something would go wrong, and I would never wake up. If it isn't needed for something like breast implants, cuts down on recovery time, and it saves patients money, all the

He likely gridded off the canvas and the image he used without permission/ crediting and then painted it in that way. And probably stamped on the letters with alphabet craft stamps or something. :P

Because being an asshole is easier for some than being a decent, interesting person is... and they can pretend that they just have an edgy personality or that they're witty, instead of working on developing character or any of that other difficult shit.

If that guy was dressed normally and placed in similar photos, I'm sure there are plenty of people here who would find him attractive... that much "extra" weight isn't really appealing to me, but I have more than enough friends who are into heavier guys. Kind of stupid to ask that question and put up such a ridiculous

This sort of statement always pisses me off. I hear it every now and then, and it's always when the asshole making the statement hears about some animal rescue. I NEVER hear someone say, "oh, but it would be better if they were helping humans" when they hear about someone doing something else, something recreational

The majority of my female friends all seem to think being incredibly tall makes a guy really attractive, and I've never understood why. I'm 5'6", and prefer guys who are around my same height. There's something really appealing to me about being at the same eye level, and something that makes me feel really

My cats love it when I rub the sides of their faces... that cat is probably enjoying it. :)

The cats were probably annoyed/ freaked out by the dogs hovering there doing their little back and forth dance and the whining noises. If the dogs just strolled by without making eye contact, it would likely be no big deal. My first cat used to do this to my mother's dog (who was nearly 100lbs) and if Jack just walked

The problem is that they aren't talking about how to change their policies in a way that treats women more like equal human beings, they're talking about how talk in a way that won't scare off women voters. They still want to treat women like shit, they just want to try to make women think they don't want to treat

It actually seems to be from the perspective of a 12 year old girl, not an adult woman. This happened to a child.

I just got an amusing mental image of Walmart shoppers fighting over a pile of horses. :D

Yeah, no, it's not naive. I'm talking as someone who works a crappy retail job, who works on all major holidays, who will be treated like absolute shit tomorrow by greedy assholes, and who would be homeless if I lost my job. If you are in the same situation, by all means feel free to organize and decide that the cost

I don't think you can compare the things that their grandparents and great-grandparents would've been fighting for (minimum wages, working conditions that were safe) to having major hoilidays off. Fighting for working conditions that won't kill you is worth it, especially if you have a decent support system that'll

Except people working those crappy retail jobs are frequently the ones who really, really can't afford to do anything that would cause them to lose their job. Not when they're living paycheck to paycheck and want to do stuff like be able to eat and be able to pay their rent and not end up homeless. :(

Ugh, Thanksgiving. For the last five years or so, I've usually worked on Thanksgiving (retail job at a drugstore that is always open), then went home and cooked for my mother and brother, who are the only family I have on this side of the country. That's always been a stress filled nightmare, but it was worse on the
