You can take away player agency, but if you do so it should at minimum be interesting and necessary. This isn’t interesting or necessary.

My take is that Warcraft 3 and TFT were the only good Warcraft games from a story perspective. It deconstructs the Horde and Alliance, introduces complex characters, and sets up conflicts more interesting than Alliance vs. Horde. It’s not great or perfect, but relative to the earlier games and WoW it’s just better.
Giving racists and white supremacists a platform free from accompanying criticism or analysis is helping the cause of white supremacy.
Lieberman won in 2006 by, essentially, running as a Republican. He received 70% of the Republican vote and was endorsed by nearly every Republican office holder in the state, not to mention several national Republicans. He was fortunate that the Republican running was a non factor. Only 33% of CT Dems voted for him.…
There’s a better play, the bully pulpit is not just limited to Presidents. Schumer is the minority leader, he could be attacking Trump’s nominees and challenging the legitimacy of a President nominating a Justice while under investigation. He has a platform from which to contest this in the court of public opinion.
Pompeo is not acting in good faith. He didn’t call Clinton because he wanted advice, he called Clinton because it’ll look good during his confirmation hearing.
Clinton also ran on a platform similar to Obama’s and narrowly lost to Trump, the candidate Biden will be challenging should he win the nomination in 2020.
lol your argument is literally that material and physical inequality does not exist. like, what do you expect people to say when your argument ignores very basic elements of our physical reality?
What a bizarre painting. My first take was the rag was a handkerchief and that Trump was crying in front of a packed football stadium while embracing a tattered and soiled American flag. That at least made sense as propaganda, Trump alone grieving over the desecration of the traditional American values the flag…
It’s a mistake.
The New York Times keeps running opinion pieces from incompetent right and center right voices because it artificially keeps the discourse from tilting to the left.
Eve Online isn’t a piloting sim. It’s more like a command sim. You control a ship and your actions are updated (usually) once per second. At the individual level you aren’t piloting anything around and manually shooting, you instead give commands about where to move and when to start firing.
Bungie doesn’t want people to use the guided games feature to complete raids. Bungie believes that group finding is inherently toxic and that players should by and large only raid with friends.
The NYT is committed to the idea that contrarian right wing opinions, stories, or points of view are worth printing simply because they are contrarian and right wing.
Franken is a Senator, a long time public figure, and an adult. The allegations against him are credible and point towards a pattern of behavior. We hold adults, public figures, and politicians to a higher standard and we recognize that repeated behavior is more serious than one-offs.
My bet is there’s clear evidence that Moore dated teens in his 30s. He hopes it won’t be revealed but is laying the ground work for defending himself if it comes out.
It’s a trust issue. On the right something is only trustworthy if it’s nakedly biased towards the right.
It nicely highlights how dumb the “good guy with a gun” argument is. The attackers gets to choose when, where, and how the attack is carried out. The good guy with a gun doesn’t know what’s happening until the moment the gun is drawn or a shot is fired. Bullets travel fast and are designed to kill, it means that…
The Republicans spent the last decade cynically insisting that nothing can prevent mass casualty events involving either firearms or white murderers. But apathy isn’t selective. If we can’t do anything about a lone wolf firing an automatic weapon into a crowd of people from a fortified hotel room, what can we do about…
You said “You can’t judge anyone by today’s standards because they didn’t exist at the time.” I stated that you can and that there is value in doing so.
