Somebody needs to put that little girl saying "why can't we have both?" gif up stat! And not in a cake-pie hybrid way. Have a slice of cake and a slice of pie. And then another slice of cake, and another slice of pie.

"Absolutely not. Never wear black with colour. It makes the colour look cheap and the black look boring. Now, let's talk jackets."

The reusable bag thing sounds counterintuitive. Do you have a link for that, by any chance? Not saying you're wrong. I'm certainly no expert. It just doesn't really sink in immediately. People don't really clean their crispers often either and I haven't heard of that being a big food poisoning risk, and I just…
Speaking of Disney movies with good songs, Princess and the Frog was just marvelous!
White washing refers to taking a story original conceived with a minority character in mind and turning that character into a white one. Please show me the original version of Frozen that was meant to focus on non-white characters.
By a large majority, yeah, they are mostly populated by white people.
ETA, except I can't find my original reply: They should have just made this the trailer:
B/c it's SNOW themed, start to finish. It needed a pretty ice heavy country. And those would be the Scandinavian ones. Also story it's loosely based on is Danish.
Not trying to proselytize, just fyi, Frozen has minimal smart-mouthery. Trailer's pretty misleading and full out-of-context one-liners. Disney went overboard with that in like the 2000's, but they're dialing back of late. Tangled was a step in the right direction, but was still pretty snark filled. Frozen had…
Agreed. And she wasn't even irrational compared to the other characters. Faith and belief were at the heart of that show and every character had a different dogma that they were chasing. And comparatively, she was one of the logical and fair ones.
Case in point. One person's strong is another person's stereotype. It just depends on which stereotype is in your mind the most. To me, Roslin's absolute belief in prophecies and the vindictiveness she showed to characters who betrayed her in some way really correlated with the 'women are irrational and emotional'…
In defense of writers who can't write women:
The feminist in me would like to applaud, but the populist in me thinks this is a joke, and a pretty damn funny one at that. Get rid of the damn thing entirely.
He's not the best friend quietly moping after her or anything. He's irrelevant guy that's pretty decent and helps her in return for money, and eventually gets emotionally invested in her. And he has a reindeer friend. And a troll family.
I see it!
The lesson here is snowboard, don't ski.
I hate all these people ...
Thought of this sketch immediately when I read this article.
My favorites from the second half, fwiw, were Hide, Journey to the Center of the TARDIS and The Crimson Horror. The episode I liked least, strangely enough, was the Neil Gaiman one, Nightmare in Silver. Odd b/c I loved The Doctor's Wife, but I found the kid (Angie) really annoying. And I skipped the Russian…
