Basically the plot of The Handmaid's Tale.

thats what i tell my motorcycle students. i tell them not to bother with taking safety precautions because the car drivers should really be paying attention to you. if they hit you, they just need to be taught not to run into motorcycles

Eh, personal choice and all that. Would I have had an abortion under those circumstances? Yeah probably. But some people choose not to, and not always due to external pressure (although obviously sometimes that is the case). Without evidence that the mom was forced to keep the baby, I'll postpone further judgement

Points to Gatto for not using her prominence for something other than anti-abortion advocacy

They better have a pretty fucking good dental plan.

I loathe the term "product of rape". Like rape is an assembly line that produces babies.

I think it depends why you hate a character. I hate King Joffrey and Namond's mother De'Londa, but I wouldn't consider either of those characters poorly-written, because I'm supposed to hate them. (Although it's disappointing that one of the few female characters on The Wire is so one-dimensional.) I hate Beadie

FUUUUUUCK.

So what you're telling me is that in addition to walking with my keys between my knuckles I should be investigating hooks and electrical outlets in bathroom stalls and dressing rooms?

Hurray!

Too early to start 'shipping them?

This is SUCH exciting news! I feel like, finally, studios (or at least, Disney) realize that women can carry an action/fantasy/sci-fi film. First Maleficent, now this! As a life-long Star Wars fan, I'm glad to see more kick-ass women added to the cast. Now maybe Disney will wise up and make action figures of Princess

I was already pulling for the Lupita rumors to be true, but to find out Gwendoline Christie is in it as well...I'm suddenly excited about this movie. I had kind of moved on from Star Wars in recent years for other properties that interested me more (BSG, Mass Effect, Game of Thrones), so I wasn't expecting much.

Please let this happen:
