They do make some unusual choices. Sliding doors are expensive, so there’s that, but then on the bigger, totally gorgeous “delivery” van concept (MPDV), there is no driver’s door. That, sadly would be a deal breaker for me, and I’m a definite potential customer of it. Their design is bold and I think beautiful. I just

I like everything I know about Canoo. They might be jerks, or Elon-esque (not that I’ve heard any such thing), but damn, the vehicles look RAD, they genuinely think outside norms, and I just hope hard, that they can make it. As an owner of two out of three of the style of vehicles they’ll be producing (a Sienna

I was about 20% interested in the KV6 before and 110% in favor of the Ioniq 5. Now that I’ve seen the front wheel drive models have some cheap looking wheels which are nothing like the ones shown in all the pics (which I guess is the AWD model). Now I’m still in love with the Ioniq 5, but the Kia looks pretty great.

This is the singular reason I’m not in line to get an Ioniq 5. What a stupid omission. I guess I’m holding out for an Audi q4-qtron or whatever that’s called. All because of a wiper. Gurr.

Pickup trucks. I don’t get it. They hold about 1/2 what my Sienna holds, get about 1/2 the gas (or even diesel) mileage, make you look like ya got a teeeeeny “eggplant,” you need to put extra time on your calendar to park it in any normal parking space, plus, there’s something sad about buying a truck that starts at

NO dice. I was considering the RAV4 EV and did a lot of research, about a year ago. There are many stories about it, and it’s good ... till it’s not. Tesla doesn’t support them any longer, so it’s a ticking time bomb (or ticking doorstop) and when it’s done, it’s only good as parts. The whole, “can’t you just get a

It’s unfortunate that Musk is such a tool. It’s inarguable that he’s been the head of some significant shifts in “what’s possible,” with regards to solar, EVs, internet. But damn, WHAT A DICK. I seriously consider getting a used Model S with free supercharging but I just don’t want my “brand” associated with his

Writer: you’ve got one thing 100% WRONG. You wrote, all the seats fold flat perfectly.”

BMW got derailed from taste by the onslaught of big grilles. They got caught in the headlights, as it were, and missed their identity options. They had three brand icons: The Hofmeister kink, the twin kidneys and the quad of round lamps.

Thanks for reminding me about the lack of rear wiper. Criminal. Same with the Model X and Y. Super annoying. Cameras don’t do it all. LOVE the Ioniq 5 but that could send me to an Audi Q4 Etron.

I’ve got a 2014 NV2500 V8 High Roof. After 2 BMWs, 7 Volvos, 4 Siennas, 3 Saab 9-5s.. all good cars, I have to say, the NV2500 is THE best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Even serviced at the dealer (because that high roof doesn’t fit in most garages) most services cost me $78.oo. It’s been insanely reliable. I shift it like

Cool! Me neither. I won’t pay taxes. OH WAIT! I want educated workers, bridges that don’t fall down, libraries, police, fire fighters and chemicals kept out of our food, plus some other stuff. Ok. I’m cooler than Elon and I actually WANT to pay taxes. Musk: You suck.

Love this.

I think they’re all up in Sonoma County. I see, probably, five at least, a day. I still love it. Chic, smart. Too bad the range isn’t more va VA VOOM!

I’m that guy that’s going to say, “I’ve had 30 cars and my 9-5 wagon was one of my most favorites.” Actually, I had three and loved them all. They’re a blast to drive, stealthly fast, and for me, 100% dependable (though I never let miles get this high). Since it’s maintained, I’m Nice Price.

Good! In 1992 I had a perfectly comfortable Civic VX with no hybrid, no plug and as much rear leg room as an E-Class, that got 52mpg. That’s incredible and it was THIRTY years ago.

I just rode in a Lyft Hyundai Kona EV. The driver/owner said it costs, at a charge point (not your house) about $8.00 for 200 miles of energy. Not set in stone, but that’s a real-life owner talking.

Totally agree. I definitely wish it had a wiper on it though.

I’m right there with you. “The car” concept has been static for a while. SUVs crept in, but nothing has changed my take on what I idealize as “my perfect vehicle” as much as the Ioniq 5. Admittedly, I’m a bit of a brand snob and before the Ioniq 5 there is no way I’d have considered a Hyundai. That has changed. Design

Are the touch capacitative sliders for climate as annoying when bouncing thought the rough stuff as they are impossible in a parking lot?
