The Europlug doesn’t have a ground pin and has very limited use, basically only lamps, chargers and very small appliances.
Any other cheapo plug is usually rated between 10 and 16 amps here.

The thing about sewers is they are gravity-driven. That means if you lower it here, you have to lower it the entire length downstream, possibly several miles, to keep the proper drainage slope.

The cars probably appreciate being able to go through when a train is there, which they can’t do at the next crossing. Why close it for the 99% of traffic that can read signs and use it safely?

For many cars, you can get the software and a cable to give you access to everything the dealer can do. I have that for VW, Volvo, and BMW for a total investment of maybe $200 across all three makes.

This is a really good point. UDS is a standard protocol, but not all the codes mean the same thing for each ECU, and the more generic ones are not always very useful. Also, you can’t write certain DIDs or program modules without the dealer tools (or some equivalent) and the necessary security keys, so if you have to
