Well doesn’t this look super fucking twee.

For awhile there was a trend of Chinese mall spots calling themselves Cajun because they served something called “bourbon chicken." One in my city advertised “jamber lier rice.”

That para-sentence is a real handful.

“Mulligan’s pretty classmate is so passively manipulatable while McKinnon takes very obvious cellphone advice on how to win her over”

The joke might have high-minded pretensions, but the point is still laughing at blackface.

I believe it was 10 years from when they settled in 2002.

They’re paid placements. It took me a couple of go rounds to figure it out too (Paula Pell, etc).

Amy, Rachel, Tina, Maya, and Ana were all in the same cast for 2-4 years.

In the sense that the House is gerrymandered as shit and the Senate is being held hostage by a bunch of small state Republicans who mostly represent unoccupied land and the electoral college method keeps installing popular vote losers, yes. In the sense that the country has always been run by and for rich white men,

Paid placement! You know, the journalistic thing to do would be to mention that fact.

How in the world does somebody mention Jenny Slate’s one year on SNL and forget Ana Gasteyer?

The obvious reason is that her production is paying for these articles. I’m sure they’ll stop in a few weeks. Remember the long string of Cameron Esposito stuff?

But you see, history education is inherently problematic so I didn’t pay attention in class...

The paid placements continue!

In ancient Greece among many other cultures, a full beard *was* considered a sign of vitality.

Unless it grows up to your eyelids, you can leave the cheek line alone.

Getting haircuts has been safe for awhile now. You enter masked, you leave masked, they’re masked the whole time. What’s the matter, too good to support the working class when they need it most?

Boogity boogity!

A rule of thumb for everybody: either turn off your phone and get your precious spoiler-free experience, or don’t, but for god’s sake please stop complaining about it.

I saw the same thing around the same time, but came to the opposite conclusion.
