The Crow soundtrack was created for me when I was 16. I was completely infatuated with the Grunge/Goth?Industrial sounds. Nine Inch Nails was my favorite band at the time along with The Cure. “Burn” is still an amazing song, and “Dead Souls” was my first introduction to Joy Division albeit second hand.

I was exactly the right demographic for this movie - white, 16, alienated youth, bought Downward Spiral in March of 94 (in proto-hipster fashion before Closer blew up that summer in ) - when it came out, but I’ve still never seen it!

(Nine Inch Nails doing Joy Division, Rollins Band doing Suicide, Pantera doing Poison Idea) are fun, but the whole thing, taken together, feels like mid-’90s corporate product for kids trying to rebel.
