The lack of a McQuarrie on the recent movies has really been noticeable - one of my favorite things about the movies in general is that most of them have come with a bunch of new spaceships, but the recent movies have really been lacking in that regard. We’ve gotten a handful, but nothing like the movies McQuarrie was

Should’ve been, “The Kessel Run”

Star Trek is about the future of the human race and the belief that we can be better than we are today. That we can always find common ground with cultures we do not understand. That the unknown is not something to be feared, but to be celebrated. That knowledge and intelligence are not dirty words.

My new favorite gif:

I felt none of those things. It seemed creative and interesting, that’s all.

Or maybe somebody should have suggested another target...a military target.

is acting weirdly because it recently annihilated an entire planet, and the shattered remains of that planet are now producing strange flickering effects.

This is the same FBI who has a faction which appears very loyal to Trump. If there is any administration you can trust will abuse these powers, it is the vindictive fascists assembling as we speak. The tone of the next four years grows darker with each passing day.

I think most of the people responding to Ashley’s lament with their terror are likely millenials and almost certainly Democrats. I’m 50 years old, I’ve been in the US military for 25 years. I cannot wrap my head around what the fuck is going on when so many of the people in this country think a guy who isn’t

The problem is not so much that Donald Trump would be an awful President and set the country back - he would. But it would be really hard for any one man to truly destroy the country no matter how hard he tries. Especially when a substantial part of his own party despises him.

I have a lot of foolish friends who support him as the #NotHillary, stick-with-the-party vote. They are assuredly foolish, but not terrible people. And I pity them because they’re so misguided.

Those are Art Deco wands you heathens. They are pure representations of the style of the era the movie is set in. Think of the Empire State Building main hall and translate that entire gorgeous scenery into one elegant wand. Doesn’t it just make sense?
