Absolutely. There is an important distinction to make here though: that is a noose made from a hangman’s knot. Had it just been a simple knot tying the rope into a loop, I could understand the knee jerk reaction to discredit NASCAR.

Agreed. Look at the Smollett incident. He claimed to have a noose put around his neck, but it was literally just a rope knotted into a loop.
You mention the (4) 110VAC outlets, but the hybrid option offers an additional NEMA L6-20 240-volt, 30-amp outlet. That is enough juice to power things like large air compressors, some smaller welders, and other industrial type tools. You could power a 7hp electric motor off that, which is very impressive.
For some reason the idea of backing this truck down a boat ramp gives me anxiety. These wheel hub motors better be REALLY water tight.
I would much rather spend $20k on a mint Foxbody or Grand National. I just can’t grow the mullet this thing deserves.
Can you imagine the uproar that would have happened if they tried to name it Lightning? We saw what happened with Mach 1.
Yeah, because dense cities are really doing the climate a lot of good.
Exactly. American cities are FAR too spread out for public transportation to be feasible except for in the major metropolitan cities where you don’t have the “work downtown - live in the suburbs” dynamic.
Public transportation works well for intra-downtown travel. The problem is that 99% of people that work downtown live in the suburbs. The only people that live downtown either are the very few who live in high rise apartments, or it’s the blighted neighborhoods.
I fully expect that the executives at NASCAR knew this type of reaction would happen. This is exactly the reason they waited so long to make this change, and all the more reason they should be commended for their decision.
That’s all the Mach 1 has ever been! Slight power gain, modest handling improvements, unique graphics to set it apart from the GT.
Go back to the greys
Just like on the New Edge, they’re trying to wring every last bit out of the S550 generation before they move on. Offering the Mach 1 may bring in a buyer that otherwise wasn’t motivated by the GT or Shelby options. There’s not much more to it than that .
Wrong. Mach 1 has never had a different roof line compared to other fastback trim packages. 69-73 was just a standard SportsRoof and 03-04 was no different than the GT/Cobra.
Kansas City is the same way.
This reminds me of my Air Force days when us officer candidates were trained with M9s. The entire block of time was maybe two hours, shot maybe 100 rounds at a static target, and we were given a “certification”. I qualified as “expert marksmen” because I’ve actually got experience with pistols, the other 200 cadets…
